I went digital last year because the cost of film got too high. The cost to buy, develop, and print (from a good lab) was approaching $1/frame. My digital setup (Canon EOS Digital+lens, 1gb cf card, and flash) cost $1400. At the rate I take pictures it will pay for itself by the end of this year.

Army enlisted men. In the Army the officers salute as the privates head for the front. In the Air Force the enlisted men salute as the officers head for the front.
Ummm. Looked at the US military lately? The Army and Marines get close air support from themselves, the Air Force, and the Navy. All 4 services have a long range precision strike capability. Etc.
Or you could just say "Redundancy is a good thing."

what it was like before the breakup. It was illegal to connect a PC, or any other non-approved, non-AT&T device, to the phone network. It was illegal to compete. It cost dollars/minute to make long distance calls.
I don't care what they call it, it ain't Ma Bell

And thank $Deity for that. Ma Bell did quite a bit of good, Bell Labs being a prime example, but the modern internet/www/etc wouldn't have been possible without the breakup. At least there's some competition, driving down prices and increasing usability, today.
Pre www, on milnet, I was wiredog. I, too, try to get that one any place I go. Got it at K5, HuSi, Washington Post, Salon, New Republic, gmail, other places.
However, if $Corporation knows it could be taken to court, and its insurance rates would then rise, it would be motivated to, at least, have proper testing.
Slashdot published a story detailing how the use of Windows NT 4 resulted in an aircraft carrier being towed back into port. Ever since than, the US Navy has been infiltrating the Slashbot Army.
Now the Annapolis Grads are ready to make their move...
the homeowner's insurance company. Which is another good analogy. What happens if companies (and individuals) start buying insurance against losses due to bad software?

Does nothing for the "to/too" problem.

A-HA! They got to you, didn't they!
But never got around to it. Why are some stories accepted, but never posted?
For example: "Global Trends in 2020 09:19 AM January 24th, 2005 Accepted"
Accepted, but never posted. Editor just forgot to post it? <TinfoilHat>Killed after $someone complained?</TinfoilHat> OTBE'd? A bug?
You get a check for every month you're in school. The amount of the check has nothing to do with the tuition.

Join the Army and get the GI Bill. There's only one minor downside...
But you can use it with a CF wifi card, or with USB networking.

Check out K5.
In general, they over-roast their beans.
Worst pun ever .
DC isn't a State.
Fairly impressive list of supported hardware, too.

Heck, I even registered it, defensively, at DKos.

they'll flip the switch on June 14th.
as long as they leave me alone while I'm alive.
And they don't go to extreme lenghts to try to convert you. Once it's clear that you're not interested they leave you alone.
