Don't forget that there is a several billion doller a year transfer from US/Europe into Sweden's economey. For years the US paid out huge rents for sub bases for fear of loosing Sweden to communism and when the cold war was over, then the cash transfers were for things like Saab and Erricson. Now whats left to sell?
They aren't focred into that job. They made decisions that later gave them the choice of work at a crappy job or starve. They still have the option of getting an education and being a more productive part of society but they choose not to.
The fun of pool physics.
I decided to build my own pool table and learned quite a few things while tring to cut corners on cost.
There are three major types of bummpers and they all play differently. There are a number of different sized balls that are made out of two common materials and a few not so common ones. Two balls if a different material will of course rebound differently depending on the spin. Different materials will also make changes on the spin. The cloth will always have differnt rolling frictions depending on the angle of the ball relative to the weave direction. The temperature of cloth will also effect the friction. The friction between the balls and cloth can often exceed hundreds of degrees.
There used to be lots of useful info at: www.bestbilliard.com but I can't get there right now.
We got some brand new 1 Gig IDE drives in a few months ago. They look like 10 gig drives but they claim 1. maybe they have 9 gig worth of bad sectors or maybe they have 9 gig worth of sectors that can be remapped.
When a modern drive is told to put a sector at a specific location, its going to do its own mapping and if its detected an area of the disk is going bad, it will put the new data someplace else leaving the old data there where you can't delete it as a user.
Flight recorders used to use a metal wire that would run in an endless loop as its "tape". It was common in the 1970s to be able to read 6 generations of recordings off of them.
I've seen several Saturn V fly. They were quite impressive. I've meet several astronauts. I've meet lots of people who built the technology to get to the moon.
NASA now is responding to a level of stupidity that the Egyptian government has been dealing with since the 1960's.
Thats the root the the problem. There is no standards board (except one could
say the people who make IE since Netscape is dot-com-ed). The W3C is a joke of
a power play and none of the other standards boards have published anything in
a long time.
The only way the web designers are going to get what they want is to redo the
low level formatting in something that is complete and not just a hack. For
example TeX allows everything designers need (except ease of use) and won't
work if its syntacticly incorrect (which is why html is so bad now). This proposal has as much merit as changing
the entire web from html to TeX.
Now, I'm a professional website developer, and I have my fair share of frustration in building websites that are generally accepted as "standards compliant" but that can't be rendered properly by many people (sometimes even our clients, on their own machines).
Am I the only one that sees this as non- professional, incompetent behavior? What ever happened to testing before releasing (even to the client)?
No one of the online banking or finance sites I commonly use allow NS6. So if one site wants me to upgrade, I can't since its not easy to run both NS6 and 4.75 at the same time.
Funny thing is that every web site I run can be viewed and looks decent in every browser except a few very old ones like NCSA Mosaic. Why do designers have such problems?
Thats ok since the search engines see it and don't index it. No problem for me. I don't get to web pages that insist that I use the latest (buggy) browser and I only get sites that aren't too heavy on the eye candy.
Maybe the workers know they have a choice, work for what the western world would call nothing or not work at all. If the workers demand too much, the factory is closed and moved elsewhere. Currently the swetshops are moving to places like China and back to Indonesia. For thouse that are too young to remember, Indonesia was the second "asian cheap labor location" after Japan. A bunch of factories were built there, the people wanted more and got themselves a leader that would increase their wages. The result was compaines closed the factorys and moved to Taiwan. There are currenlty about 50 good locations if you wanted to build a sweatshop and there are still about a billion people that live by subsistence means. Many of them would be much better off by having any sort of job and in time they will be expolited.
Most artist don't make money in the record industry.
The smaller bands can get some income from live concerts and sell CD's out of the back of a van larger signed bands ususaly don't make anything off the sales of the CDs at all. Bands that hit the top 40 several times a year might get to the point where they are getting income from CD sales.
Music piracy isn't about ripping off musicians, thats the record companys job. Music priacy generaly helps smaller unknown bands because it gets their music to the ears of people who buy CDs.
I just got a message yestersday from him saying that SSH2 had a reasonable license. Not for my uses. I suspect this little stunt will kill SSH for good. He had a monopoly on a very useful technology but tried to milk it for more than it was worth and that created OpenSSH. Had he not been greedy, he would have had a decent license, SSH2 would be wide spread and there would be no OpenSSH and he would have cornered the market. Now he will be competeing and with OpenSSH and I don't think he's going to win. This is going to turn out like CERN's http vs Apache.
Keep in mind that the maximum level of acceleration happens to be directly related to g. If the figures are correct on a different post, the best acceleration you could get from traction is about.0004 m/s^2. It would take a long time to get enough speed to go anywhere.
Since ISS uses 110V 60hz power, I expect they have a region one player. On a good orbit they will be over rgion one area for long enough to watch an entire movie.
They had one at the expo and were riding around there and on the beach.
I've talked with one of the inventors. I personaly think they are crazy considering the video they had at the big boys toys expo in Melbourne. These people come from the bush and their video show guys going through a tropical jungle like area at 25 mph (about 45kmh). The are the kind of guys who are man enough to not need breaks.
They pull apart weed wackers to get the engines since that the cheapest way to get engines. The thing won't pass California small engine emissions and may be worse than many small cars. It is also quite loud.
When I first saw this thing 2 years ago, I started looking into exporting them to the US but decided that I had better ways of making money that didn't invovle so many law suits.
My tax money goes for public schools and only public schools. Making babies is expensive and parents should know that before they start fucking around. If they can't afford to send their kids to the good schools, then don't make the babies. Its that simple.
I'm not about to make the public schools worse by drainging away a large percentage of their funds and turn them into non-functional holding cells for stupid kids. The current situation mixes good students in with a few bad and the result is that most kids end up out of school being able to read and do some semi-useful work. If some of the current plans go through, there will be a huge divide between schools as well as a class divide and it will result in a massive increase in stupid people roaming the streets. These stuipd people are a liability to me and I'm not going to stand for my tax money making it worse. You want to send your kid to a private school, fine but keep me and my money out of it.
The Jeneva convention describes this situation as torture. I bet a few papers to the court house would get the school to reconsder their stupidity. As an added bounus the person could be in for enough cash to cover the cost of a decent university.
She lives in califorina so shes an adult and has to live with her choices. She wrongly accused someone because she was spooked, and her parents are out $40k. Real bummer for them but they live there too and they can vote (one would assume) and they did not do enough beforehand to stop this nonsense. So when the idiot train headed in their direction, they got ran over.

You don't know what a modern drive will do.

what, did Talkie Toster meet a lawyer?
Kibo is that you?
No, all they have to do is start selling low user numbers and have a subscription based Karma caps.
So how much did your user id cost you Mr #347?

Tar should be a staticly linked program. Ever try to rebuild a system when its librarys are hosed?
accordig to this table there are very few region 4 countries with 110 V power and one region 2 country.
