i type many fuck microsoft letters a day, and i have i wish bill gates would die never had this problem ever...
i sometimes why doesn't my company switch to linux mutter stuff under my breath, and XP still has no fuck XP problems figuring out what i mean to god i hate office type.
if anyone else is experiencing problems, let me god i hope no one spams me know.
agreed 100%... the actual studio we did work for did not reuse the tapes, and basically used them just to get the data from the cameras to the editing machines, and then they went away.
but we were STUDENTS... and at $100+ a unit you can believe we used them until they didn't work anymore, and with care and professional quality equipment, i never had to replace my 3 tapes.
you really can't compare D-VHS to VHS... the reason the VHS loses quality is because it is analog... the D-VHS is digital. it shouldn't wear out at all.
I used to be a television production major and we would re-use our digital tapes for years with no degradation at all... these weren't D-VHS, but they were still 'tape' based digital media, and would retain broadcast quality stuff forever it seemed.
because the box cutters were determined to be weapons, now i can't bring a razor, toe nail clippers or a myriad of other items on planes...
apply this to his train of though, and the "easily accessible" web sites need to be stopped... so we are forced to shut down the internet. totally irrational thinking.
back to planes... i flew 2 weeks ago and had a mach 3 razor in my backpack and they acted like i just raped nun... later i the plane i notice the lady in front of me is knitting. to those of you who don't have grandmas, knitting needs are about a foot long huge needles. back to the music industry, WHATEVER they do to try to stop music distribution, an old lady with knitting needles will always get through.
wow... that popup question was worth the hype.

cmdr... seriously... this isn't going to work. mark this redundant right now...
1) paypal 2) tech saavy audience already disables ads 3) why would i pay to view the content i provide?? 4) why would i ADVERTISE on a site that allows its biggest fans to block the ads?
I ate ramen. almost only ramen. i remember my mom coming to visit and bought me a 2 pack of meatball hot pockets. i hoarded them for days before i finally enjoyed their hot pocketness.
beer was definately involved, my sole expense mainly. i drank coors light, and only went to bars on quarter tap night... needless to say there was no tipping.
i NEVER went to movies, out to eat, or anywhere else that cost money. i was broke you see....
i had a car, yes. a 1991 ford ranger 5 speed truck. insurance? who has money for that. upkeep was done by friends, and gas was siphoned from neighboors cars.
electronics and computer hardware were bought by my roomates with trust funds, i didn't buy any.
sooooooooooooo. no, i didn't have $39 for that image editing app, and if i remember correctly, i think i just paid over $600 for the lastest photoshop.
but i graduated in 97, with me out of the scene, i wouldn't be surprised at all if the numbers dropped drastically.
what do i do now? i write commercial software. do i feel guilty about warezing in the past? no. i didn't have the money then, i do now. am i mad at people warezing my software now? no. it is an understanding i guess...
i've used and loved mandrake for some time... sorcerer's update functionality is far better than mandrakes, and that is basically what open source is all about: GETTING THE SOFTWARE INSTALLED.
wait, what are we talking about? i would go back and reference the article, but i don't want to waste my premium page views. oh well, i'm sure someone will post something intelligent.
yes, network solutions charged way too much for a domain registration. this article says that the major accomplishments of this organization was that fact that it opened up competition. i honestly think that if a 'UN' type of group controlled it, at cost, it would be much better than the current situation of 20 emails a day asking me if i want a.name domain... (btw, how lame is.name??)
well, as retarded as it may seem their idea is probably something like this:
imaging sony minidisc... well now imaging MPAA encyptodisc. only an MPAA encyptodisc play can play them. there are no more CDs. music and movies are only released on encyptodisc. that is a very real possibility. BUT... in the end, i have the encyptodisc player, and can hook up my beta VCR to the output and record it.
ok, solution, no more normal TV sets... now video signals are encrypted. so you get the MPAA encrypto vision 2000. but! in the end i am still able to SEE the image on the encrypto vision, so i get out my old 16mm film camera and record it.
until the MPAA can encrypt signals directly into my brain, and someone i decrypt them without knowing how, they CAN'T accomplish what they are setting out to do. this is very redundant and very obvious.

i was just recently in the market for these, and they REALLY have to get a standard together.
i'm currently looking at DVD+RW... i guess DVDR and DVD+R are also both good.
i'm just going to wait, becuase i don't want to be stuck with a drive 6 months from now that no one makes media for anymore.
to the standards people:
* 5+ gigs per disk
* plays on ANY DVD player
* readily available cheap media
could someone point out the 'Informative' data in this comment? it was mainly fluff.
ok... continue this train of thought out now...

this isn't a good idea. period.
now i don't have to read fuckedcompany.com today.
see my honest analysis of my lifestyle back then in the unmodded above post. you are absolutely correct.
ok ergo98, heres the honest analysis you ask for.

the data doesn't travel over wires... rather highly trained camels carry packets. still uses IP though.
i've used and loved mandrake for some time... sorcerer's update functionality is far better than mandrakes, and that is basically what open source is all about: GETTING THE SOFTWARE INSTALLED.
a lot of talk recentlly about massively distributed OSs... but not for the same purposes.
the main talk lately is about distributed file system and processing power and the privacy issues... not technology issues.
ok, lets get started.
wait, what are we talking about? i would go back and reference the article, but i don't want to waste my premium page views. oh well, i'm sure someone will post something intelligent.
but they provided free music... they shouldn't have to pay their bills. thus conspiracy.
personally i would like my slashdot login to follow me around, so people at ebay can see my 50 karma and trust me.
first off, the thing is huge.
second, how do i open the damn door?
yeah, i had a 1ghz 64 bit alpha in 98. that was the sheot back then. only cost like $900 too... i don't know why they didn't catch on.
