I bought one of these DAC in Box and Pc Link from this Hong Kong Company http://www.diykits.com.hk/dac.html It's got me hooked that an external DAC is the way to go. I'm in the process of making one of my own, but this thing is the best I've heard for the money and I've tested a lot of different cards including the m-audio 2496 and their 7.1 revolution (both excellent cards, btw, but don't quite compare) Of course the source is lossless flac or ape. Cheers,
My experience with Leadtek tv tuners has been the opposite! I have found their software much better than the other popular bundled software. I went through a tv tuner testing phase and they all sucked except Leadtek! YMMV!! Haha...
Are you kidding? Do you really think these pathetic copies cost anyone a dime? Viewing a shaky camera and a bald dude scratching his head is not going compete with the real thing!! Think again!!
There is no denying that windows is a magnitude better in actually getting something done on computers for the masses. As much as I keep installing Linux and hoping I can just boot it and it alone, it just can't happen now. I'm a "mass" actively hunting for an alternative to Microsoft and although Linux is getting closer it's a good 3 to 4 years away from even getting close to marginally replacing windows. Again, I say this as someone who is actively attempting to dump Windows. Show me a Linux program that can get near DVD Shrink so I can stop booting windows!! Please!! Or getting the TV out working on my system??
Groklaw: 80. The first versions of Linux evolved through bits and pieces of various contributions by numerous software developers using single or dual processor computers. Unlike IBM, virtually none of these software developers and hobbyists had access to enterprise-scale equipment and testing facilities for Linux development. Without access to such equipment, facilities and knowledge of sophisticated development methods learned in many years of UNIX development it would be difficult, if not impossible, for the Linux development community to create a grade of Linux adequate for enterprise use.
Could anyone comment on "enterprise-scale equipment" and the idea of the impossibility that "hobbyists" could make Linux work at the enterprise level?
Yeah, keep believing that the music industry will pass the savings along to their slimy customers if no sharing existed!! It's been claimed that the recent lawsuits decreased file sharing. Let's see if sales go up!! They are full of shit!!
I'm in Japan and you've got to appreciate that switching ADSL providers is as easy as changing a user name and password. Costs about $30 for NTT and another 20 for the ISP. Pretty nifty!!
