    umm, they are made by the same subcontractors, but what Dell considers ok as far as QA, and what Apple considers OK as far as QA is what makes the difference is quality. not to mention the Engineering that went into the design of the system itself.

    because the government here has decided that copyright should be longer than what Australia thinks it should be does not mean that the government is trying to censor information like China.

    the lawsuit is filed by a private citizen who has asked a judge to see the case based on the merits that were filed. a judge thinks that argument is a valid one to hear.

    China is a GOVERNMENT ACTING TO CENSOR INFORMATION based on arbitrary rules used to control their people.

    your analogy is very bad and is more an expression of your hatred of the US, which is Irrational at best, and not a product of objective contemplation.

    you idiot!!!! I am talking about clustering. if you clustered 30,000 CPUs of XServes together, you would get a really good bang for the buck because it would come in way cheaper than the cray or comparable systems.

    X-serve clusters would be cheaper, but I think that Cray has the edge n the interconnect tech. So, you need massive bandwidth in the system, get the Cray. you need next best bandwidth at a low price, get the Xserve cluster.

    umm, what heat problem? the 9 fans and liquid cooling are in their respective models to solve a SOUND problem. not a heat problem. but then if you bothered looking up statistics on the G5 you would not be able to bash the mac would you?

    umm, the G5 puts out less heat than the Athlon 64 (which puts out less heat than the P4)

    only a moron would assume that the liquid cooling (not chilling) is because of temperature.

    because we were the first countries into space, we are the most active space members, we have done the most advanced projects in space and we therefore should have the most say in what happens up there since we have been the ones with the longest track record of responsibility.

    permanence doe snot mean a country does not mean that no other country doe snot get on the council, it just means that the general assembly can not pull some crap like they did with the human rights council and remove the US in favor of the most anti-human rights regimes on the planet.

    in turn, the Gen asem would probably vote the US off and commence with regulating the crap out of the US just to spite. all the permanence would do is to protect the 60 years of investment that Russia and the US have had with space.

    yeah, High CPU clocks make cpu intensive work better, but when was the last time that you actually used a CPU intensive application at home?

    2 GHz is pretty much the max for NEEDs right now, I mean, AMD has gotten great performance in their 2x00+ series or processors by just messing with the on board caches. it was not until they got to the 3000+ that they actually bumped to 2.4 GHz.

    umm, and? on an SMP system that is why it is good for the motherboard to have 2 Memory managers with a separate bus for each proc.

    to be conscious, you need to be able to have meta thought, or reflection. certain species show this, most do not. a squirrel for instance will stay away from a place where it was injured for a few weeks, but after that it returns, and even if it was scared away reliably every time, it will eventually return after a similar amount of time. there is no thought going into that, it just reacts, albeit with more sophistication than a hamster or a dun beetle, but that is all it is doing.

    dogs on the other hand learn from experience as do whales and apes, and humans.
