    I didn't bother to do anything with the issue that I bought, but I did notice that the thing kept going far longer than I expected it to. I think I bought the thing in September of last year and it was still going up until last week before giving up the ghost.

    Somehting similar is being done at my university. We're sitting at 10Mb normally in the dorm, but we can request to be upgraded to a gigabit connection if we have a valid reason. There is also packet shaping utilized, so p2p isn't really worth it, but a group of students has recently set up a local private Direct Connect hub so we can share files without consuming the precious bandwidth to the outside world. It seems to be the best of both worlds.

    Maybe those 20,000 voters had an epiphany just as they were about to vote for Gore, and voted for Buchanan instead. It could happen. It would certainly explain a lot of things.

    I remember my grandfather talking about his elementary schooling. Even though he was left-handed, he was required to learn to print and write cursive with his right hand. He eventually learned it, but his writing was always borderline illegible.
