>When the Chinese socioeconomic system was on the verge of collapse, China adopted policies which placed them on firm ground as the world's first stable fascist state. As a result of this decision ("It is glorious to be rich!"), its leaders remained in power, the Chinese middle class continues to grow, and standards of living continue to rise.
Funny, I had never before thought of it. But you _are_ right. By the definition of a fascist system, China seems to be much closer to that than communism.
Nationalism, market economy with strong government influence, highly authoratic government. All match perfectly, and only autocratism is something that the definition of communism does not exclude.
Maybe it is time for them to paint their flag black?
I'm behind a very slow proxy at the office, and can tell these tweaks made a significant difference. Slow sites load approximately 6-7 times faster now.
A point of interest: I'm running Win2k and it seems that tweaking these parameters actually changes something on the OS networking level, since also IE benefited of this huge speed boost.
Another question, what is the downside of this? I haven't seen any so far, but there must be a reason why pipelining is not on by default.
Anyways, a Series 60 phone with Bluetooth, GRPS, HSCSD, big colour screen etc.. Retailing for the lower-end consumer price?? Seems like a good bargain to me, even without the games.

That would be Nuclear War. Such a morbid, hilarious game.
In short, Cisco / Linksys got an unfair edge in competition on a free market by stealing code. Now that is a fact that Forbes somehow forgot to think about and should be ashamed of defending.

IIRC one can get open & use SSH pretty handily with this one. Seems like a very geeky sysadmins phone to me :)

My ISP asks always for the last two characters in the password. This seems to be nice & secure enough verification of identity.

They seem to have a sense of humour there

.. I wonder what kind of legal mess we had if some of these owned asteroids crashed on earth?
In any case, I hereby claim the sun to be mine.
