IIRC Exchange 2003 only stores one copy of an attachment anyway, saving spact.

That and the 75GB data store limit were the main reason we upgraded from Exchange 2000 in the first place.

    Indeed, they used Mac OS

Of course, Goldblum used the Powwerbook 5300- the one with the exploding batteries, so the aliens were doomed either way

I worked in a school where they had a suite of iBooks for video editing using iMovie- they were not the most powerful beasts at 500MHz G3 and 128MB of RAM, but they were good enough for the kids to splice footage together and mess about with transitions. Later last year we got a bunch of iBook G4s in along with copies of Final Cut Express- I started having a fiddle with them, just to get a feel for OS X and gradually realised that I was enjoying using a computer for the first time in a while. I am one of those peopl who periodically tries to use Linux but gets frustrated by all the configuraion difficulties.
The only problem for me getting one was price, that changed earlier this year with the Mac Mini- I bought one and loved it to pieces. As a result of the Mini being around, my housemate and two of his friends are now owners of 12" iBooks, my uncle is getting a Mini and my cousin is going for a 15" Powerbook. Myself, I just bought one of the new 17" iMac G5s, the recent bump seemed to move it into a sweet spot where I thought it was worth buying.
Seven Mac sales where before there were only PC users, obviously this is just a point of data and not a trend, but I think it shows how thse things can snowball. I do stil use my PC by the way, it is more powerful than the Macs- but I only use it for games now, and to be honest I can't see me upgrading it or getting a new one in the future.

Maybe it is a special announcement or some new feature where if it is red we can quickly mention errors with it?

The featureset is rather sweet I have to agree :)

Microsoft wrote their own versions and prevented competitors from being used (e.g. The Windows XP Personal Firewall)

not to make a point of disagreeing, but Microsoft have on many occasions pointed out that their firewall software is a very basic system so to provide some functionality for users but not to prevent dedicated firewall companies from having a product.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the firewall was created by one of those companies- after all the in built defragmenter is just a very stripped down version of Diskeeper!

Windows does not 'prevent you' from using better versions of these tools- in fact when you install Diskeeper it replaces the built in app in the management console

yup, DBPowerAMP is a free program that will happily interconvert between wave / mp3 / ogg / wma- many codecs offered for mp3 too for those not happy with LAME

  12. Mods keep alive old titles AND franchises! on Mods: "Lifeblood of Gaming Industry"? · · Score: 1
I agree that mods increase the value of the original game; I was an avid player of the Freespace series, very fun space shooters. Problem is the single player campaigns were too darn short. Saying that though, a game where you can win by supernovary death has to be cool!.

The game still hogs hard drive space though, me and my friends still play it because of the Babylon Project mod. As is well documented, the official Babylon 5 game; "Into The Fire" was shaping up to be a very cool game until it got bounced from distributer to distributer and finally pulled (a real shame as seen as they got Joe Straczynski to write the script and all the cast in to film it, but hey ho :-( ).

This mod captures the feel of the series very well, sure it is rough around the edges, but small complaints against actually having a game based, IMHO on the most intelligent Sci-Fi show for quite a while.

Credit must be given to Volition for providing the mission mod as standard with the game as well, again it is good to see a company with the foresight to provide extra value with their products, many a stupid mission has been created with that tool! It certainly makes another space shooter based on a certain franchise look very poor indeed
