I haven't run into the first problem using Hotmail in Firefox. granted, I dont use every feature of Hotmail as I could care less about calendaring, etc...but for basic email, it works fine in Firefox.
google.com/ig is my home page. open a browser and instantly see my email, local weather and select news/sports/science headlines(I dont watch tv that much...) all in 1 page without all the crap that msn/yahoo/aohell/etc would like for you to see!
I just wish I could drag the toolbar and address bar up to the same row as file/edit/view...
at the time I purchased my DVR(3 years ago), Tivo would ONLY do initial setup via land line...after initial setup, it could use the usb NIC. since I only have cell service, I went with Replay.
I agree. over the past 2 years, I am increasingly glad I went with ReplayTV over Tivo. whether its the phone line requirement of Tivo, or the delayed inability to transfer content to my pc/mac from Tivo to the broadcast flags now showing up on Tivo...
if only ReplayTV had the channel guide layout or the remote from Tivo...then it would be the best of both worlds!
here in Richmond, cable is at best 2 down/1 up whereas my Speakeasy DSL is 6/6!
so, tell me again how cable is faster than DSL.
also, I refuse to "install software" to let me have a net connection. all you should have to do is plug in a ethernet cable into the NIC and renew the IP and voila, you're connected.
Speakeasy is by FAR the best/fastest broadband service in central VA.
of course, I'm 2 blocks from the CO so that may be a major reason why my DSL is far faster than cable, but not even Verizon offers the DSL packages here that Speakeasy does!
so I'm reading the comments and I still see people saying that this website and that website doesnt work in any browser except IE...what websites are you going to?!
I haven't used IE since 99. whether it was Netscape the first year or Mozilla or Firefox afterwards, I have yet to come across a site that doesnt work in a non-IE browser. I pay all but 1 of my bills online(rent), I do my banking online, I do travel reservations online, etc...I even prepare and file my taxes online and have done all of the above things for years; if I can save myself a trip to the post office or not have to use my phone, GREAT!
WTF websites are you people going to that will ONLY work in IE?!
this may only apply to businesses, but, isn't it a fire code regulation that exterior doors open outward making it easier for people to leave a building in case of emergency?
"I'll start taking them seriously when their "ready for the enterprise" operating system stops putting icons called "My Computer" and "My Network Places" on the "Desktop.""
well, you cant be talking about XP, since the USER puts those icons on the desktop, not Microsoft!
odd, my Mini(10.3.7) supported the Bluetooth mouse/keyboard out of the box. turn on the Mini, the screen with the mouse/batteries pops up. follow directions(insert batteries, turn mouse on, click to begin pairing) and wala...
I never had to plug in a usb keyboard/mouse to get my bluetooth to work
allready this claim is obsolete. over the past week or so, I have noticed about 1 pop-up ad a day on my firefox(yes, it is updated).
also, firefox does not block flash pop-up adds at all...yes, I know there are extensions(or are they plugins?[/rollseyes]) that can block flash, but I use/view/work with flash.
try saying that in a corp environment where SP2 breaks VPN compatability, disrupts terminal emulation necessary for accounting/ordering purposes and I wont even go into the specialized systems that control our automated warehouses. . .
am I the only geek who does NOT play video/computergames?
while I love seeing hardware reviews, there has GOT to be another way to test video cards other than playing games. fps and all the other game-centric metrics are completely useless to me.
have you not seen the red arrow that appears below the min/restore/max buttons? that arrow tells you there are updates available for the browser and/or extensions
maybe I'm misinformed, but don't you have to "hack" the Tivo to get this functionality?
with Replay, you get the functionality out of the box(you do have to install DVArchive onto your PC/MAC)...no hacking required. you can even burn the program to DVD

you mean before, not after.
win 98 came out in 97
win 2000 came out in 99

its not deducted here in the US, at least in Virginia. I've been ticketed for speeding 5 over on I-95(60 in a 55) and the court fined me $65.
" I'm still looking for a FREE Ftp program for my MAC other than the command line. "
um, RBrowserLite is a free GUI FTP client for Mac.
I guess you didnt search very hard for it though...

I'm amazed at how many people use Word as a graphic editor or use Excel as a database...

what other metrics can be applied to video cards?
Soundforge does not watermark all files.
the info that this story represents is only present in the file header if you 'check' the 'save metadata with file' option in the save dialoug
no. the first Soundforge release from Sony was ver7.
there were a few versions of Soundforge at a very reduced rate starting with Soundforge 4 Studio
the perfect toy for boys and girls, young or old.
:)
fess up. how many of you still have Legos from 20+ years ago?
have you not seen the red arrow that appears below the min/restore/max buttons?

most manufacturers will not replace/repair a LCD unless there are at least 8 dead pixels.
what manufacturer only requires 2-4 dead pixels?
