I dumped iMovie in favor of premiere, but thats because I work on larger, much more complicated projects. iTunes is wonderfull as a database prgram for music. I like it (version 2) quite a bit. iPhoto, i dumped that for Photoshop. Overall, these extra programs are exactly what apple needs to regain some market share among computer users who just want something that works. That is the wonderfull thinag about these programs. They have some depth to them, but if I wanted, I could use them really simply, use them if I was my great grandmother, with a new-out-of-the-box iMac. iTunes for instance, you can balence by using a pre-selected option like 'vocal' or 'techno'. or, I can adjust the ranges for each Hertz range.
Now, chances are, me being a comspiracy theorist, either the military knew it would miss, or didn't care. Really though, we should fund the projects that look for these astroids, because at least we would know if and when it was coming, instead of figuring out, "oops that might have destroyed us". So, funding please? And I might as well put in a plug for SETI funding too. Space, along with our oceans is the last place left to explore. Why don't we? Perhaps someone can dirct me to serious, well thought out papers on the ramifications of a killer astroid/ effects of nuclear winter?
We can all probably agree that child porn, the exploitation of children is bad. But who determines what is 'child porn' ? so the ISPs block sites. All I must do is is route my search through ask.com, a proxy, or some other site. also, so we get rid of US sites. What about all those.nl domains? Perhaps what needs to happen......is a couple of good hackers go website-smashing.............Actually, since the porn is always going to be out there, WE NEED TO CHANGE SOCIETY......kidding, thats to hard, and fetishes don't change, according to certain studies. Since the porn is going to be there, forget about blocking it, its not going to happen, instead concentrate on people with Gigs of the stuff, and put them in jail, Along with the website owner/operators. perhaps it should be a crime to HOST a kiddie porn site, along with having the stuff on your computer.
Cryptonomicon was an amazing book, on par with Neuromancer. Hopefully though, testing will migrate from OC48 to something a wee bit cheaper, as most of us don't have $100 an hour to spend on that sort of connection. Cryptography is cool. IT has always been at the forefront of both theoretical mathematics and computer science.
Maybe if MS had a product worthy of using...........but no, thats 'flamebait'. I think it is important at any computer show, store, or tech gathering, that people get to use and play with the products and equipment. How else to better sell them? Perhaps MS should let people play on its console, even if it was against the rules.
I love trackballs, haven't found a good one thats USB compatible. Any suggestions? Preferably Mac. I have always liked trackballs, they feel so much more real.
anything to Limit them, anything to promote competition. The limits only have to be in place long enough for other (better?) programs to become popular.
Perhaps we should, for the duration of the penalty phase, prevent MS from developing any more software, and since technology moves so fast, this would put them at a considerable disadvantage, and also force a settlements soon
I have used computer based composing and synthesizing quite a bit, I have also listened to quite a bit. Sure, some guy might have a $14000 setup, but that doesn't mean he has any talent. There are mountains of bad techno/trance out there. Perhaps we should concentrate on developing sources for talent, instead of synthisizers. I have a crappy 2000 dollar system with an iMac, and its all I need to do techno, classical, jazz, and even some alternative stuff.
what are they then? a Credit card compny? Perhpas, for our safty, they should regulate, or at least clearly define paypal. Is e-gold considered a bank www.e-gold.com? they have online pay services, but they also have hard currency. I guess so. Anyways, what is Paypal??
I admire him.........in his stupidity. Given how small the roller-coaster is, he will merly be paralized for life, not dead. Takes Guts to do that. I wonder if he let the kid ride it?
I think that any publicity showing the 'alternate' (non-wondows) side of computing is good. Linux and the other non-mainstream systems deserve some amount of publicity along with the people behind them. What was that movie, made for TV on TNT I think it was called Pirates of Silicon Valley. Hopefully this will be a little better.
I dont know much about the clone wars, but in the Pre G3 days (pretty much with the 601-604 processors) apple allowed clones. Power Computing made the best of these, but Apple no longer allows clones. Macs are expensive bc they are well made. I have 7 macs, most of them ancient history(more then 4 years old) and not one has developed a hardware problem, even after sitting in a dusty basement. I am wondering: can I run OS X, with its program compatibility on another system with G4s? would i have to highjack the ROMs off another Mac?
will there be some way to take this new support by redhat and use it on server/ high performance multiple processor boards? I want a Quad G4.Is this possible? would I have to rip the ROMS off another G4 board?
Well, perople can look at whatever they please, but I would prefer not to. Now.....given that I am a highschool student (under 18) there are legal implications if i click on that link............who would be at fault? not/. i don't think.
Video game music is not as good as it used to be, now its not as good, whreas before, it was limited by technology e.g. PacMan. I am waiting for the time when good music is composed by Uematsu and others. And that quality becomes the norm. Please, I have had enough of this techno/trance/hardcore/metal stuff. Lets move on
