  1. Why not only give copyrights to artists? on When Elephants Dance · · Score: 1

If the copyright period is set to 14 years, and only renewable by the original individual, what would this do to the treatment of artists?

IMHO artists would get a lot more money for their creations, and corps would have to 'court' them in order to keep them, and their art, as an asset. Of course this might lead to treating artists like professional athletes...hmmm.

Oh sure, corps would still go after copyright violators, but more to stay on the artist's good side, not just to keep their own pockets lined.

  2. It wouldn't be their eyes you'd see on US Army to Try Out New, Anime-based Uniforms · · Score: 2, Insightful

After all, eyes don't need to reflect light to function, just absorb it.

What you'd end up seeing is two little spots on the back of the soldier's head where there just wasn't enough light bent around.

  3. Re:Regarding the images on their site on The Incredible Shrinking Motherboard · · Score: 1

This is just a guess on my part:
They may have zipped the image to keep their website from becoming a picture server for anyone who doesn't want to spend their own bandwidth. When an image is over a Megabite, I could see that becoming a problem, especially if it's 'posted' on a heavily trafficked webpage.

  4. Don't lock people out on What Makes a Good Web Design? · · Score: 1

Thankfully I don't run across it too often, but it really bothers me when I run across a page like this that locks users completely out of the website unless they change browsers. Unless I really need to know something in the website, I'm just going to move on, and I'd wager most other peole will too.
Design is important, but not to the complete exclusion of content.

  5. Non-CodeWarrior Palm Programming on What Kind of Books do You Want? · · Score: 1

This may just be my ignorance, but I've never found a book about palm programming that doesn't focus on codewarrior to the (seeming) exclusion of all else, even if other tools are included.

Since my project is a little one, I've been hoping to find something that will help me use the (free) pilrc toolchain. Hopefully something containing a lot of examples.
