I don't get the concern over this. What are you a member of some primitive tribe that thinks your soul will be stolen if your image is take and then posted somewhere online? It's a photograph. If you appear in the background of a photograph I take it's not like it matters or anyone cares.
People spend too much time worrying about this shit. Just go live your life and quit worrying about who posted a picture you happen to appear in on facebook and what nefarious bullshit some imaginary supervillain is planning to use it for.
You're an AC and you're gone but I don't have to try and stop them. Steam is going to stop them. Reality it going to stop them. When it's time to put your old unsupported operating systems down the surrounding ecosystem takes care of making you comply with minimum standards by not allowing you to login to their service with your 17 year old operating system. Problem solved.
I disagree completely here. Marvel has managed to maintain a decade long 2-3 movie per-decade level of quality that most studios would kill for. There's not a truly "unwatchable" movie in the bunch and the worst Marvel film is better than anything Disney has managed to squeeze out of Star Wars so far. I think that what Marvel has done has fit their source material well. Maybe comic books just lend themselves better to that kind of pace but even one Star Wars movie per year is tiresome and seems like it never goes away. It's almost like the franchise needs that time in between films to build up anticipation for the next one. I know they throw "Episode ___" in front of the main series films but really the Marvel movies are much more like true episodes than Star Wars.
Force Awakens was bad. A poorly concealed lazily written copy of the original Star Wars film shoehorned into the space the characters occupied at their current ages. Last Jedi was far worse. It has been a wasted space and while Rogue One had a bit of interest to it (The story of how they got the location of the second Death Star would have been a better choice I think) Solo is a back-story I never asked for and didn't need. The same goes with Boba Fett.
The Obi-Wan anthology film might have more promise if it wasn't this bunch making it. They just don't seem to have any idea what makes Star Wars work. Hell Kathleen Kennedy go across the hall and see if you can schedule a meeting with Kevin Feige. Bring a pen and some paper. Take notes on how it's done for crying out loud.
I really hoped this story was about our ability to produce elephant+ sized cows in the future and was hoping to live long enough to buy a brisket I could smoke and then crawl inside to eat my way out. Turns out it was just another dream that will never come true.
Exactly and to be perfectly fair why bother trying to force this away at all? It's not going away and if anything it's only going to get worse (or "better" depending on what your perspective is). This isn't something people can just wish into non-existence and there's no realistic way to undo it. It was inevitable that we'd all get machines powerful enough to do this and that someone would work out how to do it and then make it easy enough for anyone to download a program and get started. Everything in the history of personal computing has gone down this way. Instead of worrying about who's face is on a 2 minute clip from a porn film people should be excited about how they'll be able to watch a movie someday with their choice of actors in each of the main parts. If you don't like the new guy they cast as Han Solo then no worries. In another 10 years you'll be able to completely replace him with a young Harrison Ford (or Christopher Walken if you just can't get that SNL bit out of your head).
I think (and I know this is sad and not in any way helpful) that humans just aren't capable as a species of dealing with problems this big and that the moment we got big enough as a species to create problems this big the writing was on the wall.
Richard Stallman can go fuck himself. He's the kind of person who's the reason why there are so many laws in the United States that no one could possibly be aware of them all. Just don't use facebook. You know, like how you didn't use MySpace or refused to use Windows? This stuff works itself out in time. Always.
Will the illegals be able to read the air labels if they're not in both English and Spanish? Will they be allowed to bring their own illegal Spanish-speaking air with them from across the border? I'm bringing these questions up at the next San Francisco City Council meeting! Surely they can pass an ordinance that will be binding for all 50 states.
They still don't need one but feel they must add one because of the snowflake students and staff (You know, your friends most likely) who are "angry and upset" because a bunch of people who routinely carry guns around them everywhere else and are almost never responsible for any of the bad shit that happens with guns are now allowed to bring them into their safe space. My post was filled with nothing but facts and allowing those CHL holders to continue carrying on campus has made them nothing but safer. You don't see that because like the pussies you're describing and apparently dating you want your imaginary gun-free zone to continue not protecting you. No number of your own sanctimonious and uninformed posts will make that a reality. Wouldn't you feel safer and more at home in California? Take her with you.
Indeed and when I first heard there was a shooting there my first thought was "Please don't let this be one of the gun channel people". It wasn't of course. Just a peaceful California vegan/animal rights activist nut bar angry over not enough people getting to see her homemade music and bunny rabbit videos.
It sounds to me like you're not very familiar with what the NRA does. You should do some research and come back when you have a better understanding of that.
Makes sense. That's pretty much how people learn things now. Go online, become an instant expert on any topic you choose. If it can show me the fastest way to change an alternator on a 2003 VW Passat then it can show someone how to put together an AR15 just as easily. Actually building the AR15 is a lot less trouble than the alternator.
Oh, almost forgot. Capitalism hasn't had any effect on arming teachers in Texas. There are already over 150 school districts where this is allowed and no insurance companies have bothered to intervene in this at all. There a bunch of reasons for that but basically it comes down to CHL holders being safer and more law abiding than even police officers.
This is more or less correct. A company looks at which way the wind is blowing, makes their determination, and then takes their chances financially. Youtube just decided that the benefit of making the anti-gun side happy was more likely going to outweigh the push-back they would get from the pro-gun side. I am in fact pro-gun but I never understand why people (on either side) take it personally. It's not personal at all. It's a calculated move by a business entity trying to do what they think is in their best interests.
Look at Dick's Sporting Goods for example. To much fanfare they took AR15's off their shelves. Does anyone remember when they did this once before after Sandy Hook? They made a big deal out of it and had their corporate "Think of the Children" announcement and got lots of positive press. Then they quietly put the guns and all the other stuff back into the stores where those things made up a significant amount of their business. Now they're getting rid of them again. They're just trying to make money and keep off as many peoples shit lists as possible. Can't blame them for it at all.
Not true on the "All the parts in a box" bit. Constructive Possession can still get your dog shot and you in jail.
Making a fully automatic rifle of any kind will put you in a very bad place when the ATF finds out what you did.
All those machines from 6 years ago, they're finally wearing out. I didn't think this would ever end!

My 8000 pound truck is mighty comfortable in traffic. Don't plan on giving it up any time soon.

No, they can pay for their own new computers. If they want to play in the big sandbox with all the other kids they have to get their shots.

You used the word rape in two successive sentences. Do you have any idea how many people now feel raped by that? Oh shit! Did I just....
Wants information on Deepfakes and isn't interested in porn? Weirdo.

I get my water from Fiji thank you. Unbelievable that people actually think anyone would be getting their water from Hong Kong.

You making fun of muh stopping power boy? I shoot a .45 because they don't offer it in .46!
Interesting post. Informative. Wish I had mod points at the moment. I'd do my part to get that "Troll" label off of it.
