Here is where I think a creative counter suit would be nice. Counter sue for all of the patent/copyright troll's holdings to be released into the public domain.
IAAL too,... I'd be interested in seeing an ethics ruling concerning this if you have any citations. (Sorry, I'm not paying Lexis to do a search just to satisfy my curiosity.)
I wonder if there would be any merit to a class action law suit on this. I recently took advantage of the FCC decision http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DOC-238850A1.pdf to require IEEE-1394 / FireWire out from the cable boxes, to find out the 160$ package I bought could not be watched on my FireWire enabled DVR & display.
So I went out and bought a HDMI to DVI cable http://www.mwave.com/mwave/SkuSearch_v2.asp?SCriteria=BA22631 to watch on my projector & DVI flat panel to get an overlay from the cable box that says "this output is not authorized" and my show in the background for every channel.
We frequently encounter this issue with our clients (government, military, and commercial). We know that this can be a very bad thing if they capriciously apply it across the board. What we have recommended allows for the most flexibility, while minimizing the "tools". In order of importance.
This would allow any team member to move from one workstation/area of work to another without too much effort.
As to the language, we recommend that one be chosen for "prototyping/scripting" and another for "enterprise" development.
With Cygwin you get the CM tools, build tools, perl/bash/etc. (Already included tool set under Mac/Linux/Unix...) With Eclipse you get every thing too. (works on all OS) Teraterm nice term, just don't like putty myself. (not needed outside of windows) Adobe for those that like spending money. (Mac/Windows) Office, they are going to buy it anyway.
1) mirror the old to the new, 2) wipe the old, 3) set clock (back in time) 4) install on old 5a) set clock 5b) copy files or install app 5c) repeat 6) buy used cds of all songs on old
How can the transfer of software licenses be held to be illegal?
When we purchase machines from Dell, they MUST have an OS installed, and they cannot install RedHat. So when the machines come in, we peel the sticker off, apply it to the shrink wrapped media, and file in closet.
Most of our machines go to government clients, who have site licenses for win2k, or they get used as servers (Linux).
Why should my small business be charged for this XP Home crap, and then be prohibited from reselling the license and media?
I am not asking to hold MS or Dell for support on the new software or the resold.
The claim they use to refute this is that you NEVER purchased the software, but rather you lease the right to use the software.
the SLA with our provider (nextel) allows for static IP, 57.6k (max 28.8 typ). There is no filtering going on, no resrictions on data usage. It is designed for "server use" as well as realtime "client use".
we are interested in putting some of our product in private use vehicles at COST, we want to get our name out there.
without investing in a USB serial cable
Oh poor baby.
...there should be places that don't cost 52% of my monthly income to live in...
Not sure what to say, but nice houses near the train station rent for as low as $0.50/sqft/month
I am a software/technology business owner and I have been in Baltimore since the mid 90's.
I can say that the tech industry is growing and maturing in the area and the cost of living is quite low for the proximity to urban lifestyles.

Write the query and I will do the search.
No, keep the hat, and demand better.

This is our defacto standard, after the Latitude c840.
After MST3k left us, some of my friends thought about doing a diner theater version, live. Kinda like a comedy dinner club style. What do you think?
it seems to get good battery life and does not come with any frills, as cameras are not allowed at work.
We generate screen shots all the time to "propose" software to clients, never did they really exist.

grab mysql latest production installer win32
(install source)
http://cygwin.com/setup.exe
install perl, gcc, cvs
remake mysql perl stuff (have my notes at the office)
fiddle with iis to execute perl for bz dir
modify the #! lines in perl files which are barking.
done.
I can walk you through it in my spare time or if in a hurry, you can get a support contract from my office http://pdinc.us/
