The issue is, most technical workers have to use windows, as most pro level CAD, CAM and even Embedded Development platforms, are windows only. The monopoly will be around for at least my lifetime.
As another foreigner: Clinton seems to have a lot of baggage; Bengazi; The Clinton Trust; Suspicious Deaths; I totally lost respect after she was giving a speech on freedom of the press in foreign countries, when during that speech a vet Ray McGovern stood up and turned his back in silent protest: He was brutalised by security and locked up for a Short time: Hillary washed her hands of the incident. Thus I think she is a hypocrite interested in the highest bidder for her services.
We have 'The Safe Schools Program', whos stated aim is 'the prevention of bullying in schools', but has now been revealed as primarily driven by LGBTI activists (Ros Ward) to introduce primary school aged children to alternative sexual lifestyles, which smacks of marxism (ie the state knows better than parents, so shut up)
Not much gets into main stream media without puppeteers pulling strings: And when I hear the Soros foundation is partially bankrolling this, you gotta ask why.
Quote from infowars.
The Panama Papers expose offshore tax havens in Switzerland, the Bahamas, Grand Cayman, and Panama, but says nothing about a new arrangement legalized under FATCA, the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act.
The law “makes the parking of dirty US money abroad practically impossible. So where does that money go instead—it stays in the US,” writes Zero Hedge. “And, to top it off, there is one specific firm which is spearheading the conversion of the U.S. into Panama: Rothschild.”
The international bankster institution opened a trust company in Reno, Nevada. “It is now moving the fortunes of wealthy foreign clients out of offshore havens such as Bermuda, subject to the new international disclosure requirements, and into Rothschild-run trusts in Nevada, which are exempt,” Bloomberg reports. The United States “is effectively the biggest tax haven in the world,” boasted Andrew Penny of Rothschild. One of the world’s largest providers of offshore accounts, Trident Trust, opened an office in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
I think it is even more complicated than that. The distributor of TV shows and movies goal is to sell to a market that will give the best return. If Foxtel in Australia is offering $10M for 5 year rights to a serial, and Netflix offers $1M, of course Foxtel will get the deal, and the distributor will expect Netflix to enforce georesetriction. This old distribution model is slowly dying, but it take decades before it is truly dead.
Yes, Netflix stopped blocking US content from Australia via DNS spoofers; but the DNS services have already worked around the blockades.
Netflix gets to save face saying we implemented blocking plans (which they did). Users still get to access other regions because of technical workarounds.
Observing the US election cycle from Australia has been popcorn entertaining.
It seem Hillary is the establishments choice, but she carries enough baggage to sink a battleship.
Trump is a loose cannon (a combination of Pauline Hanson and Clive Palmer whom Australians will know well), so why is he so popular?
I think the average American is sick of seeing their government bully the rest of the world just so the military industrial complex can make a buck for the 1%. I think they are tired of politicians being bought by lobbyists. I think they have had a gut full of their jobs being exported overseas, and their standard of living declining every decade.
So Trump is a protest vote in the hope it might blow up the system and cause a reset. Will it work out; from Australians experience of this style of politician; probably not. Should the Zuck get involved? Well hey, you don't think the mainstream media isn't having their strings pulled by their owners. But Hillary as President... Ewwwwww. I feel sorry for you guys, but it's sure gonna be fun to watch from afar.
*this* The MPAA are business idiots. If the MPAA ran a supermarket, they would say : Hey, 2% of stuff is STOLEN.... let's put everything in locked glass shelves, then suddenly find out that the 50% reduction in sales (because it is now too inconvenient) dwarfs the now 1% that is being stolen. Most people don't want to steal, but they do want convenience and a reasonable price.
Beware, This 'event' was 'sponsored' by a Soros funded entity AND there are currently no USA names on the list AND the biggest fingers are pointing at people the USA doesn't like. Sounds like a setup.
Good comment. I have also read that most terrorism is because of social or economic displacement, and religion acts as a catalyst but not as the primary motivator.
Because messenger is part of the facebook page, everyone on facebook uses it? Someone is very optimistic... Facebook will get financial information out of my cold, dead, hands.
Comrade, I see you are having trouble adjusting to our 'new utopia'. Don't you realize the corporation loves you! Where once you endangered yourself with face to face interactions, we have now provided you with a virtual cohabitation that empowers your choice and well being. Be assured; once we have eliminated cash, your motivation to participate in the 'new utopia' will be irresistible.
What you write makes perfect sense to me, but Americans have no common sense when it comes to guns. I don't think they even realize how batshit crazy they look to the rest of the world, because you know, more guns = less deaths. USA USA.
After the Port Arthur massacre in Australia, tough gun controls were bought in requiring gun safety courses, safes, annual licensing, and restriction of semi automatic type weapons and most handguns. One interesting side effect of this, is I never hear about accidental shootings by children anymore. I live in a large Australian city and have never seen a firearm I public except for police and security guards. A handgun on the black market now costs over $5k. This has been a big cultural change for Australia because when I was a kid in the 80s you could still buy guns from KMart. To say it is too hard to do background checks is defeatism. Americas cultural violence/gun homocide problem will take generations to reform, but you should try to reform it. This doesn't mean a blanket ban, but sensible reforms like restricting military style weapons and licensing gun owners with appropriate background checks. Yes the criminals will win for a while, but you will better off in the long term.
Negative gearing only works if there is a capital gain on the asset. Negative gearing is a silly word; it is really just a normal business where you have an asset with income and expenses, and if the expenses are more than the income then that loss can be offset against other taxable income.
Having some of the worlds highest house prices is nothing to be proud of. It diverts a huge portion of wages to an unproductive asset class stunting our ability be competitive in a globalized (ie level playing field where our manufacturers have to compete with China, Vietnam etc) economy. Unfortunately the horse has already bolted and most of the money from the uplift has been spent; thus the burden of continued high house prices or a Japanese style deflation will be on the shoulders of my kids
I had an 840 (Dells OEM version), in my Nice XPS15 system which became unusable after about 8months. Using the rewrite tricks didn't fix it. Had to replace it with an 850.
And that's why you cannot derive meaningful statistics from a single data point.
Well as some more data points, any other Christian I've talked to shares that philosophy.
So as a christian you prefer to push your religious mores onto others rather than acknoweldge that abstinence-only sex education [wikipedia.org] has been proven ineffective and try to find something else that works. And you wonder why people have problems with religion!
Read more carefully. "Sex Ed. I have no problem with that" ie, teach about condoms and contraception etc etc, but say abstinence is still the best form of contraception.
Yeh.. we need /. counseling support group.
I'm going to have 'Unicorn Unicorns Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Death' running though my head all day
Firefox: Still the only browser I know of that properly supports side tabs via the TreeStylesTab plug in.

While you are correct, it seems an easy problem to fix with meta moderation which /. Used to use in its early days.
Thus reverts must be voted on as to whether they were justified or not; then those moderations are also meta moderated.
