They'd sue you, because you moron didn't get the point:
If you call your product 'Linux OS X' (product name) it is considerably close to 'Mac OS X' (product name). Note that the X for 'ten' is NOT the version number but part of the name, thusly the full name of the most current version of OS X is:
I don't think so. There is a difference between "OS-9 (product name)" and "Mac OS (product name) 9 (version)", so the actual name is Mac OS and the version happens to be 9. Apple's product name never was OS 9. But Mac OS (version) 9.
I have to agree. At least that's the impression a German living in Tokyo is getting. Your freedom of speech is flawed in many ways.
If in Germany anyone would call any kind of action or behaviour "Un-German" he/she'd be put in the Nazi corner (probably smacked right in the face) and no one would take them seriously (except maybe for the gang with the nicely shaved heads, and no, I don't mean Buddhist monks;^)
Whereas you can easily make utterances in the US, such as calling certain things "Un-American" without making a complete arse out of you (well you still ARE making a complete arse out of you, but the people around you often won't object).
stupid things like what OS to run. It's like a telephone. They want it to work.
Then why the fuck are they using Microsoft crap? It works barely, but it really doesn't work well.
Working barely can't be enough. After all you don't want to pick up your phone trying to call someone in Europe when half of the time you get a puzzled operator from Japan to answer the call--but that's how well M$ stuff works in my experience.

BTW you are the lucky 1.000.000th guy who's coming up with that old joke.
This is the rebirth of the ever undead Amiga. The website clearly says that MorphOS came into existence when they tried to rewrite the Amiga OS for the PPC and ended up with... something completely different (Monty Python??)
I guess this will be as all of the other products related to the Amiga, vaporware. Jeezus, the AMIGA is--just as Elvis--DEAD, get over it!
Yes I, too, loved my Amiga when I was young, but this episode of computer history is over once and for all.
It's even worse. You really don't want to know how bad the situation with broadband in some countries of the EU is. And I'm talking about Germany. If you're really lucky and live close to a larger city you "might" be able to get 1.5 Mbps for 25-30 Euro/month...
Jeez I'm getting 100Mbps on fibre optic line for 5000 Yen (37 Euro)/month in Tokyo and 12Mbps ADSL for around 3000 Yen all around Japan.
Yes and no. If there is no type and/or creator set for the file, the Finder uses the extension to recognize the file type.
Also with bundles (which are folders that act as if they were "flat" files) extensions can be the determining factor whether they are even recognized as such (otherwise it's just a folder).
>We speak english here in America. >When I come to your country, I would not expect that >everything be printed or spoke in my language, >so don't expect it here.
Funny that most Americans I've seen so far in Japan just do that. They expect everyone to speak English and permanently complain about the bad knowledge of English the Japanese have (ignoring that their own zero knowledge of Japanese is the actual problem).
Get real, most English native speakers really never ever bother to learn another language, even if they live in a foreign country (!). At least that's what I've seen in Germany and Japan so far.
P.S.: >everything be printed or spoke in my language The passive form of "to speak" is "to be spoken" not "spoke".
Well the overall number of people using computers has increased quite a bit. Keeping the same market share means that the number of Apple buyers has increased accordingly, doesn't it?
After all market share is percentage and not an absolute number.
Incidentally, This is very, very old news- I remember reading about this years ago, a bunch of US researchers beat these guys to the punch by quite a bit.
BTW If you now think what I'm saying is contradictive to my notions to the OS 9 issue, let me explain that Apple have simply changed the naming scheme from
Mac OS {version number}
to
Mac OS X {version number}
Might be clumsy, but that how it is.

The advantage over HURD ist that it's actually working, I guess.

You can get Mandrake for PPC here, and also NetBSD, Yellowdoglinux, MkLinux, Debian (!), SuSE, etc.

They should accelerate it with Quartz Extreme ;-P

(or maybe "Bill, I....", forget it).

Yes there is a way. Use the OS X native version of Xemacs.
If that link doesn't work, there are other mirrors on OSXGNU's website.
Just as you spell it.
