Yeah that makes sense. Especially when you have to buy the same movie 5 times on DVD to get all the hyper-turbo-ninja special features and collectable metallic case.
One word: software. I can't run any of the Macromedia MX products or Adobe products in Linux. If I could I would completely switch of MS products in a heartbeat.

Macromedia and Adobe would be doing the web developer community a great service by coming out with reliable solid versions of their software for Linux.
HTML and PHP scripting can be accomplished fine in Linux but many web developers can't do their jobs without being able to run Macromedia's software to author Flash.
Sometime the BIOS upgrades are crucial! I had a HP workstation that needed a BIOS upgrade to take advantage of a newer faster processor. I had another machine that wouldn't recognize newer larger hard drives without the upgrade. So I guess they can be really important if your putting in new parts that might not have been supported when your board came out.

If I wanted to build rich interfaces I would use
Flash and Cold Fusion or PHP on the backend.
I don't really consider JavaScript to be "rich".
Calling a web interface that utilizes JavaScript and
HTML "rich" is about 3 years out of date.

Computer and console game sales just recently surpassed the film industry in gross sales.
Wouldn't that mean that games are already more popular than films?

I have noticed a trend at consulting firms where one guy or girl always seams to get stuck with the real pain-in-the-ass clients.
I always thought of them as the "Whipping-Boy".
