It is an indication of the GUI changes we will be seeing in the final release of Panther. The watery "Aqua" interface is giving way to the new liquid metal or "Mercury" interface.
One of Apple's best kept secrets is that there is a version of AppleWorks for Windows. It is only available to education customers however. You get both the Mac and Windows versions on one CD for $39!

I was really hoping that the quality of Apple's UIs would get better especially since Bud Tribble came back to Apple. The whole upside down tab thing in Safari is unbelievable.
Since we aren't going to have an "official" public beta on which to provide feedback, we might as well say something now...
Hit the "bug" button or select "Report Bugs to Apple..." in the "Safari" menu.
