I have tried it and it seems to use less resources, probably because it doesn't run those wierd ads that use up extra computer resources, and popup windows.

Everybody goes back to Apple IIs and modify one instrucion of the proccessor, hexedit all corresponding programs, then we use archaine networking standards nobody understands. And if they somehow got access into the system they wouldn't understand it anyway and all there programs would fail to run. The flaws I see it is systems would crash from faulty attempts to run them, *nix and other OS's would be hard pressed to run on these machines, and it would take a long time to and elite programming skills to link the network to the internet to access porn sites again. But it would make it very difficult to be paranoid about people hacking you as this would be undecteable by the standard.

This information is a little bit out of date(about a year). Although its based on data collected so far up to the time it was published, there still needs to be more data collected to get a better picture of our universe before we come even close to figuiring out if its flat our not. One of the discoveries that might alter this is a mysterius force that sends our deep space probes off target. We have no clue how it works, and what its effects are on the universe on whole. Its my oppoin that we live in a hybrid universe that exibits flat properties but will still collaspe upon itself and be reborn do to properties unforseen and unpredicted yet. But as noted this is just my oppion.
I'm talking about the package(the resources it provides such as the api calls ect.) as a whole as being a fun toy to play around with. and if you use it you might end up with something intersting, or you might learn something under its instructions. Aka the bonus.
I saw this on ABC the other night and I'm just glad that the story was managed to be put in full on slashdot. First this law, then passport, and who knows what else is going on. Who in the world is guiding these types of actions. It doesn't seem like the people can do anything about them. So whats next, the health record of my pets being up for sale so they can advertise specific pet products straight to my door? They used to have a state law where I live that allowed the sale of social security and drivers license information, fortuantly it was stopped. Now the companies can just and get half of the info from my bank, and I can't even opt out from this.
Well right now you have the choice of alternatives to built your computers. But just wait until they starting using more of their power on what hardware you can buy. Just remember what they did earlier this year about computer stores selling computer hardware without windows installed. They no exactly what there doing, and what the competition can do against them. It will be a M$ policies world untill enough people feel the company breathing down there throat right next to them as consumers try to something outside the box.

I think its intersting, since I believe there are two aspects to the production of art and since they can be seperated by computers that some(maybe all but a few) art critics would consider it to be design.
1.) The idea that is dereived from inspiration, or a fellow person that is only in your mind, or a week sketch. Its the blue print. It has not been adequalitly depicted to be called anything. But it still required imanganation somewhere to come up with it.
2) The production of the art it self. Critics might not consider this stage art if you don't use your hands, since using your hands is could be considered an art in its self. Are they saying since you can tell a computer to draw a circle of some diamater, and then since you manipulated that more, its not art? I beleive thats exactly it.
Now, the only thing I would like to be seen done is that slowly and steadily as more and more of supposidlly graphics design people increase, that a new standard will be created by the critics themselves. Or if they won't do it, there will hopefully be enough people intersted in it that a whole new group will start up and create the standard themselves. As long as it has awe and can be admired, more and more people will be drawn to it and their is where the critics will come from.
Being more machine then person would be intersting. Just think of all the cool things darth vader can do. Not to mention if they get that brain implant working, that might lead to a cable to a computer so I can surf the web and play video games by just thinking about it. Actualy I read some where that the older you get, the more exhausting it is to think. So maybe scratch half of that last idea. I'm not to sure about those tracers that you injest though, seems like it would be to easy to kill a soldier, gut it, and duplicate the tracer or use the dead soldier somehow. But I didn't realy read the details on how the thing worked.
This is a nice modern convience. Just can't wait until hackers figure how to start switching off and on my refriderator though.

aren't you forgeting The Player that can be downlaoded from www.projectmayo.com and www.divx.com that allows you to watch incomplete divx movies, plus Mirage relases films in the Advanced Streaming Format key word STREAMING aka watching movies that aren't compleltly downloaded yet. , and they are using there own mpeg 4 optimized codec that the asf format lets you embed into the files.
And yes having these newsgroups do help, I managed to save money by not going to see Dungeons and Dragons.
And for a movie that I did go to see because of them was Gladiator because I liked the begining.
Not having these newgroups at least the mirage one, makes it harder for me to get the first few mintutes of a movie, which although might not be the best way to rate a movie, is the way I like to do it.
Being an @home customer that uses newsgroups, I was proud of the fact that I had access to some of those groups. Not exactly being a huster fan, but I enjoyed d/led the first few minutes to movies as a preview type of way. This realy doesn't make me happy.
I was talking about linux as a whole, redhat was just the os being broken down by the article itself. And red hat was at one time was pretty high up in the ranks of easy to configuire, and easy to install. And in some parts, still is. Now easy to configuire/install is a feature that helps linux spread. Thats a good feature in my oppion atleast.
In particular, it would cost over $1 billion ($1,000 million - a Gigabuck) to develop this Linux distribution[RedHat] by conventional proprietary means in the U.S
This is just devoloupement, it doesn't include the fact that some ideas are revolutionary and there value would be much more.
A friend of mine let me see Super Dimension Fortress Macross II and ever since I've been wanting to get more of the series. Thanks for posting about it.
Automatic is the part that I don't like. But if they can implement alot of checks saying, we are going to automaticly do such and such, is it alright, then I'd say, its an added bonus for stuff like this. Whatever happened to that advertising banners in bootup idea? Is this what has become of it?
Also this stuff doesn't have to worry about the varieties of aluminum eating fungus that recently have been found. Now they have to worry about the inner enviroments of these things for weirder types of organisms that like to break down carbon based structers.
