I know the TFA points out this is an opt-in type of requirement, but it does point out one of issues of any internet law. My ISP is based out of Utah. They provide DSL service to my small community a scant 3 miles from Utah's border.
If this was mandatory, what about me? I am not a citizen of Utah, why should I have comply?
Being semi deaf (the upper db ranges... it was an AC/DC concert in the early eighties...), these a**holes drive me crazy. The low bass pretty much washes out any other sound when I am around it. Horrible...
But look on the bright side, when the revolution comes, we old guys may not be able to out run those guys, but we will be able to sneak up on them...
Every ounce of psychological, emotional and intellectual energy is being consumed in the work itself. Teamwork, in this case, is an insignificant factor to a person immersed in this sort of creative experience.
Doesn't this sound kind of cultish? While teamwork is good, this seems to say to say you should subjugate yourself to the greater good...
Yeah, I'm really looking forward to the tech support calls from clueless users complaining that there internet connection doesn't work because their SEMTEEPEE thingy....
It's cool they want to do this, but I recall driving from Dallas to Salt Lake City via state highways in Texas (Dallas to Amarillo) and there wasn't a bathroom to be seen.
There was, however, a picnic stop every 50 miles. Didn't have the guts to relieve myself out those places, although I was tempted.
Hear Hear...
and this line was also very funny:
this was England, after all, and whenever two or more people assemble in England, it is national law that tea must be served. I'm from Louisiana and we have a similar law that involves Dr. Pepper and Cheetos
It was almost like he was channeling Douglas Adams when he wrote that...
As someone who worked in a carbon fiber development lab in the eighties, I will agree that carbon fiber can burn.
But as the MSDS for carbon fiber points out:
Flammability classification: Not classified. Flash Point/Method: Not known, but very high! Auto-Ignition Temperature: Not determined Flammable Limits: Lower: Not applicable
Upper: Not applicable
Sure, not shopping at Wally Mart is a solution.... but, when Walmart says to it's suppliers (which is basically everyone who makes anything) 'You will use RFID', everyone will use it.
How long until other retailers jump on the same bandwagon. A lot of my clients manufacturer stuff for Walmart, and they are implementing RFID as part of their process'. If it's in place for Walmart, why not Target?
You said: Hillary specifically, and Democrats in general, have a long history of blaiming _things_ for the actions of people.
As opposed to blaming gays wanting to married? Face it, right or left, all politicians are whores when it comes trying to get votes.
It's called playing to your base.

And it will be 18 minutes shorter than usual....
Ken Brown doesn't beleive Linus wrote the orginal Linux kernal... on his own... in six months...
Of course he doesn't believe it. Neither would Microsoft. MS purchased their first OS and hired a real genius from DEC to write NT.
It just isn't in their experience as software developers... and what do you want to bet that Ken Browns entire progamming experience is in VB?

Hey wait a minute... I am a tech support guy at middle school and some of the janitors make more than me!
