What does this have to do with Active Desktop? I think our fine editors messed up yet another story title (YaST). You may want to think about changing it to Active Directory, being thats what the article is based on.
Does anyone remember the movie 'The Truman Show'? Commercials will simply be molded into the shows. We are already begining to see this in movies like Austin Powers: Goldmember (drinking the aquafina water and holding the label out in broad view, the tons of advertisements while driving around etc etc). The advertisements are just going to keep getting more bold as time goes on and devices like PVRs come out which make it easy enough to skip past commercials. Other than that, companys could always just spam everyone:)
I know far too many people who have quit their kosher IT jobs because at the end of the day they felt they hadnt created anything. Most of them moved on to be music producers and chefs. In my opinion(and im sure the masses will agree...) work sucks. But I find OTHER things that keep me happy such as playing music or some other form of release. Finding a job that keeps you happy AND comfortable is like finding that $100 bill just lieing in the middle of nowhere... its highly unlikely to happen.
This distribution looks alot like Demudi. I've never seen a little friendly competition hurt anything, especially in the Linux world. I hope companies like Steinberg and Protools start releasing apps for it.
Most of those lowend KVM switches dont work worth a damn. Its usually the highend ones made by companies like Raritan that actually work well (besides the occasional PS/2 mishaps). As far as USB... I've never owned a system where all the USB devices were stable in the first place, so I cant really imagine having a USB KVM. Sounds like a nightmare to me!
