I've said it before and I'll say it again, the story to Metal Gear Solid is amazing. I dont know how they thought it up but it just blows you away. I know I was completley suprised when I finished the game for the first time. I would have to say the best plot/story in a game has to be MGS. The original, for the playstation, didn't have great graphics but who cares, the game was awesome and so wasn't the story. They eventually did a remake on Gamecube and others called Twin Snakes, same game, redone. Better graphics and still a great story. Anways, MGS originally was released 1998 and I havn't seen a game with that good of a story since then.
Who's Idea was it to give hunderds of 11 and 12 year olds $1,350 pieces of equipment? I highly doubt that a lot of the laptops will last. And is it necessary to have a $1,350 notebook for the sole purpose of reading text? They probably got a higher model than what they really needed, sounds like a lot of money was wasted here to me...
From the memo: "DCC2 allows IRC clients to negotiate connection settings using a handshake mechanism for agreement to protocol usage. Protocols available on the offering client are published to the receiving client. The receiving client may then reply to the offering client, listing the subset of the available protocols that must be used. The receiving client also has the option to open the connection if the offering client cannot accept incoming connections."
It looks like the big thing they are trying to do is simply increase compatability between one user connecting to the other using dcc2. I do not beleive that dcc2 will have a great difference of quality over the regular dcc but it will have more compatibility.
They aim to "incorporate new technologies" but I dont see where they are going with this...
I am curious to learn more about what users of blogger.com they are offering this to. Seems pointless to me, they would have been better off having a sign-up to be a beta tester. I am sure that a lot of people who use blogger excessively and got an account wont do to well in beta-testing it for bugs. A handfull of them probably will not even use it. Is this even official? Where exactly was this information posted so blogger users that actually got an account know about it?
Exactly what I was thinking, the metal gear solid plot is really well made. While playing the game, it blew my mind at how the story unrolled. I hope that one day someone will be smart enough to make a movie of this with real people. As long as the developer, Hideo Kojima directs it, I think it would come out great. Weird that MGS, the videogame, is considered a movie. It is even on IMDB!

I second this! Happy B-Day slack, It is my fave distro so far, still got to try this "Knoppix" and Gentoo...But slack will always kick ass!
I think Billy uses "I mean" and "Lets be serious" just a little too much...and as for "He is not considering porting any MS Apps to Linux" I am not sure he would know how.
Hmm, your right that most small websites can't take it, maybe they could just ask the webmaster if they could cache it on/.'s server and link it to themselves. Still i wouldnt be made if i got/.'d id be really happy:)

I was thinking the same thing, but from the post, if people could hack it and make it play divxs...that could be big.
All im saying is that was wut the article was talking about. Linux running a wm. I am not saying in any way that a wm defines unix
No, i dont think Mac OSX is completley unix and linux is diffrent then wut macs are running, plus it uses no popular window manager like Kde or Gnome
