    And to the grandparent poster, my girlfriend thinks it's cool.

    I should of explained my reasons for saying "dont let your gf see it", mine use to keep asking every so often "whats that again?" and after the 20th time you have to draw the line and part with it(the fob not the gf ;), oh and shes not at all stupid, she just switches of when ever computers come up.

    Ill end up getting moderated offtopic for this but its worth it..

    When I was in school at the time the jaguar came out, I remeber a mate of mine who thought that becauase it had 4 64bit processers(thats what he thought), 32 bit sound and what not ment it added up to (((64*4)+32)+N)bits or something like that.. its really crazy.. but thats how it is.. the bigger the number the better the "bang!"

    At the end of the day you have to laugh..

    Didnt we learn from past descussions that word length has nothing to do with how good games are... remeber the jaguar?

    I think the n64 was a good step forward, but then the xbox is 32bit yet far superior....

    Ive noticed that Goodle.com have registered Gooogle.com and also setup ww.google.com sub domain to catch miss types.. now with roogle on the table... its gonna be pot luck soon what search engine you hit, no problem as long as there all good ;)

    There's way too many IT people nowadays & it's spoiling it for everybody.


    I take it by that you mean theres to many early twentish males who lernt html from magazines and think there gods gift to the net, then bullshite there cv to get a job, get fired soon after and relise there actualy not that good, then either decide to do advertising instead or try harder ;)

    I know this is how it works here in Manchester(UK).

    A mate of mine lives in San Jose, and as far as he's concerned the valley is dead, and will stay that way for a long time yet(3-5years), he's a very good coder and has everything from mcse to cisco certs.. yet he's still to find a job after the .com crash.. it would be very interesting to hear from other /.'ers that are from the area to comment on this..

    in schools, its very easy to retrieve information, I went round no less than 10 junior schools in my area to get information on the new students that are about to enter the new year in the secondary school I work as the information manager.. NOT ONE of the schools asked me for ID, they showed me to a machine and logged me in and let me walk out of the door with the information on floppy...

    Its a very scary.. but what can you do..

    and they say linux costs nothing ;) (just joking mods honest!) on a more serious note.. it cant cost that much to develope a system like what your describing.... really it cant, can it?
