  1. Re:About time. on Nero Files Antitrust Complaint Against MPEG-LA · · Score: 4, Insightful

I would think that if MPEG-LA has 'retroactively changing previously-agreed-on license terms' that in doing so they may have turned Nero from an abiding Licensee to a 'non-abider' rather quickly, and that perhaps this was what Nero was upset about.

I should RTFA, and all that though...

It would be interesting, however, to see a robot adapt to playing music based on other music they have "heard" and as such alter their playing style to make the music... "better"... or at least in the way that their algorithm interprets "better". Would take a lot of 'training' with 'good' music though, and I'd hate to see what feeding in some 'bad' music might do though. Or if it would interpret general conversation as music...

They are more of an Impartial third party in the whole thing than either yourself or the country wishing to pursue the extradition.

All countries have legal process. Being moved to another country with a different process should be considered based on the local laws of the country the person resides in. They should decide whether it is fair and equitable to send their constituent to face a foreign court for whatever reason.

Actually, I believe taking the files including your final draft of the book you're writing for O'Reilly is most probably copyright infringement. Considering that you own the copyright to what you have written you can then assume that by duplicating that they have infringed on your copyright. Proving that they have would be rather troublesome unless they were caught however.

This is exactly what I do. I use different windows as different projects, and different tabs as different tasks within that project.

Also I tend to do research in the way of "Search google" then "Open up in new tabs anything that looks cool" then "Refine google search" and skim through the tabs while waiting. This tends to leave quite a few tabs open after a very short time. Once researching is done I close the window and continue in one of the others.

Yes, mo-BILE is also something potentially hung over an infants crib. This is yet another matter of context. If somebody here mentioned a cellphone the common answer would be "to whom? and for how much?". ;)

Dropping the superfluious 'u' because your accent doesn't allow you to actually distinguish between an '-our' and an '-or'. I think a lot has to do with accent, as most of the different spellings you are critical of actually serve a very good purpose, either in written English, or in enunciation.

Neither of which I said we shouldn't do, I just laughed that he believed it wasn't an environmental negative. I could have taken this stance because:
    1) I think that cutting down trees is an Environmental Negative or
    2) Clearing land to make tree farms is also an Environmental Negative.

The rate of extinction of animals as their natural habitats are removed for more 'convenient' materials farming is probably the worst ecological disaster facing us. Most wouldn't care about it, myself included. This still does not mean I can't laugh that some Paper Company Executive believes the lies he is shovelling.
