    I agree. I have a question though:

Who owns the HU cards? Does DirecTV own them? What does that license read?

If DTV owns the cards, then they certainly reserve the right to send anything they want to them, including signals that will 'contaminate' non-subscribed cards. Even though the signal comes onto my property, I can't realy do anything with it if I have to use equipment that DTV technically owns.

Now, if you can emulate these cards without actually owning one of them (or if you legally own the card when you buy the reciever) than with the exception of the DMCA, I don't really understand how this is breaking the law or constitutes "Stealing". Who loses out here?

It's a safe assumption given some of the groups that I have openly belonged to (at which FBI agents were commonly masquarading as members) and the newsgroups I used to read and post to (under a different name). it's widely accepted that the FBI maintians files on members of fringe political groupsI've never seen such a file, so the possiblity exists that I'm imagining things.

Let's just say I'm more than a little subversive where the Excutive Branch is concerned. :)

In reference to #2 above, I can accept that the chimps didn't kill everyone on the ship, and that's where the human population came from. What i don't get, is how, in just 400 years, O'Tangs and Gorrillas evolved from a group of Chimps.

Furthermore, why were there no other animal species native to the plant except horses? And where were the insects?

I was very disappointed in the ending, but also in the lack of attention to astromony. Why did this planet have several large moons, yet you never see them from the surface? And why do the apes speak such clear English? Granted, their ancestors spent a lot of time around english speaking scientists, but come on. No localized accents or culturally specific language?

The farther away from watching this movie I get, the less I like it.

Dear friend, it is not due to our lack of appreciation for differences of opinion (so long as it isn't about OS related issues). It seems that a great many actions have been taken in God's name by Christians throuhgout the last few K years that are quite contrary to values us smart people take for granted.

Like burning books and libraries and museums, persecuting learned men, burning literate women (for being literate), and keeping a tight lipped monopoly on the bulk of relevant historical artifacts.

Not to mention the utter hypocrisy of most Amerikan Christians, who would sooner die than actaully live thier lives as Jesus allegedly would have. Forgive us if we are a bit jaded concerning the genuineness of your 'position'. That is WJWD, isn't it?

Amen. When cases like this filter up to the periphery of the mainstream, it further illustrates the substance behind the LP position on privacy.

Government should never be trusted to behave responsibly with the powers it is given. Just as Corporations' trustworthyness is inversly proportional to the amount of power they have, so too are governments. As someone with a red flag in thier FBI file, I obviously have a vested interest in being able to protect myself. I believe everyone has a vested interest in thier right to live a private life. Period.
