That was the first thought in my mind when I finished that article. I only was semi impressed with Blizzard when I played Warcraft II. When they released Starcraft, and I loved it so much I skipped a few days of High School to finish the campaign, I knew this company had made its mark.
I think Starcraft was the game that really catapulted Battle.net into the spotlight anyways, not Diablo.
Oh I definantly agree. I was excited from the moment I saw Charles Roven produced Batman Begins. Anyone that helped turn that movie franchise around definantly brings hope to newer movies (especially ones based on video games).
Looks like the names are switched up in the post. Alex Gartner produced Barbershop 2 and Out of Time while Charles Roven produced Batman Begins, Three Kings and Twelve Monkeys. Even the imdb links in the post show this.
Where are the four mechnical arms that are impermeable to electricity and magnetism? Then we can just wire them right into our backbones. I mean thats pretty much all we need, right?
You can't expect Square to continue creating games as great as FFVII. FFVII is considered as a great classic in the video gaming world. Can you imagine what the programmers at Square were thinking when they sat down to work on FFVIII? They had the task of trying to top a game as good as FFVII. I personally never played FFVIII mostly because I read the horrible reviews and friends have advised me against playing it. But I thoroughly enjoyed FFIX and FFX, even if they weren't as great as FFVII.
I'm glad Square is taking their time making a spinoff/sequel to FFVII. That tells me they know they had an amazing game and they are being as careful as they can to make sure any other games based on it don't suck. Sort of like the whole Matrix deal, except with video games instead of movies.
I noticed a moderate slowdown (of about 5-10k/sec) with the built in firewall enabled... sure enough when I disabled it and just relied on my NAT'd network with a firewall built into the router, my BitTorrent sped right back up!
I can see how this firewall would be extremely useful for the computer illiterate person just using Windows for minimal usage, but I'm also very glad that I could turn off the firewall very easily and get Windows to stop bothering me about it being off with a simple check in a checkbox.
My best guess is this means instead of just creating these amazing looking movies on powerful computers and then capturing the output into a movie file as part of the video game production, they'll be able to just "program" the movies, and tell the game what's supposed to happen in the movie. Then the PS3 will render everything thats happening and the cinematic is sent to your tv screen.
Thats my theory. If anyone wishes to correct me, feel free to.
Personally I think using r3mix on LAME mp3 encorder makes the mp3 sound exactly like you are listening to the cd. And if you rip the cd with EAC, you have a perfect copy. I never really liked VBR before but it is actually starting to prove itself to be worthy. Check out http://www.r3mix.net for more info.
After all that happened today, what I wanted to do was get my ass home and try to find out as much information as I could. No one I know lives around the areas that were hit, but it was a huge event that will be remembered for years. Then I got a call from my aunt. Her daughter's husband was camping in Somerset county. She said he was within about 2 miles of the actual crash site. I coudn't believe it! He said he was going to remain camping there though, knowing him I wasn't surprised. It was quite a strange feeling knowing he was so close. I know him pretty well because I did work for him for a bit last summer. He owns Netsville (www.netsville.com). Today is a very sad day....
This! A thousand times, this!

That and some jazz about harmonics

Wasn't the Voodoo 5 along the lines of a multi-GPU card? It sure was big enough to hold 2 GPUs.
That would be interesting if someone discovered the SETI uses Linux based systems. I wonder if M$ would be so eager to give money then
I can just imagine the top executives at AOL... "What is this?!?!?! People actually DON'T LIKE pop up ads?! I thought they loved them!!"

CD quality is about 192kbps. And even then there are minor differences
