"But if you need to produce a document, spreadsheet or presentation, you're still likely to be able to do it faster and better by sticking with the Microsoft devil you know."
That just makes me sad. Did they even try it? Maybe it was them who were so caught up in "updating" and "tweaking" the OS.
...a local store where I live in Calif is seeling a 100gig HD (7200 RPM) for $120. I could build you a better computer for cheaper than what they are selling thier product for ($1500). I mean, the technology they're using must be really good. Sure.
That's why I have a job where we have multiple T-1's so I don't have to worry about lag period. At home I had DSL and I got lagged out all the time. Finally I switched my Primary DNS to another city nearby and that improved my speeds a great deal. All in all I have had better speed when using a cable modem but it seems to be less reliable. Go figure, you can't have your cake and eat it too.
I disagree, however we all remember when ICQ was being bought by AOL. Everyone said that ICQ would charge now or you would need AOL's software. While none of that happened (as AOL promised) we do now see ads on the messages. Everyone's just trying to make a buck but Google seems to have done ok so far.
This show is still on? It was terrible so long ago, I can't belive that they didn't yank it by now. Truly mind boggling.

Ha! Famous last words indeed. But alas, it is only a 40GIG HD. Not nearly enough space for it to be useful to all the mp3 and porn leechers. =]

You speak of LANs as if it is a new thing? I've been LANing for years.
Beer: is there anything it can't do?
So it can be done but why should I do it? I'm not for Win specifically, but I see no reason to change. What are the advantages to changing to Linux?
Tell us how you really feel.
You can move to where ever you please. Mexico, Canada, Great Brittan, or hell, go join the French Forigen Legion. They take ANYONE. Really.
The great thing about this country is that it is free. And if you don't like it, you have the freedom to pack up and leave.
SSH2?
Too late. =] Been doing that for a while.
