You can simply obey the law...Of course so could they;)
I couldn't have said it better myself. Even so, one would hope that the "sueing your way into riches" would catch up with them (i.e. they lose a battle). blah
Again we all must wonder how secure this is. But really, I'm more worried about a patent - which might give them exclusive rights to thier little piece of technology. Arg.
Actaully I am in Sacramento as well although I restricted uploads to zero (to save my bandwidth) for the time being. Maybe it's a Sacramento AT&T thing...
Yeah you would think that, but as I'm sure you know TheMan(tm) isn't always as smart as they would lead us to believe.
And actually I incorrect in my original post, I can connect, but all searches return 0 (zero) results, not matter how broad I make my search terms. Still, I don't know if it's my house (my roomates ran into the same problem) or if it's AT&T.
I have AT&T broadband here in N. Calif and I've notice that I have not been able to connect to Kazaa, iMesh, or any other p2p network for weeks. Is this because they have put a block on it (because of the network usage)? Has anyone else ran into this?
Well if you're going to get snooty about it, then see:

Blah. But I do see your point about how it has worked it way into our language. Even so, it doesn't mean that it's correct (or official for that matter).
I'm sure you've heard of him. There's a reason for it: he writes good stuff and he makes it easy to understand. There are many websites and his books are in every store. Check it out!
So could this lead to a cure? I mean it's great and all that chimps are immune, but can that technology/gene/whathaveyou be used in some sort of cure? I'm sure it sounds "me-me-me" oriented, but I wan't a cure for humans. Is there a biologist in the house?
Who the heck would want to hack that? That's just as recockulous as me breaking into someone's house, doing all thier dishes, and then leaving. Sure I could do it, but it would be just plain silly.
On a different note: Dishwasher for hire - $10/hr

Why not have it electronically locked until the cycle is complete and unlock when you enter in your PIN number (i.e. re-swipe your credit card)?
For cryin out loud, you all scream and run at the slightest hint of 'mp3's being outlawed' -type news. They are fine and they aren't going anywhere. I really doubt any else will replace anytime soon. Relax.
Microsoft is about as clear on details as this Monty Python quote on politics:
"I think that all good, right thinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that all good, right thinking people in this country are fed up with being told that all good, right thinking people in this country are fed up with being sick and tired. I'm certainly not, and I'm sick and tired of being told that I am."
Since this would allow copyright owners to legally hack into peer-to-peer networks, could p2p deisgners make the connection SSH? Or perhaps some other form of encryption. Sure it could still be hacked, but it would take a long, long time and considering the number of p2p users, I doubt it would be worth thier effort.
Its getting nastier by the day.

So he's crying cause his page isn't ranked high enough? Who friggin cares? Get a life man! Google pwns j00.
Seriously, this is a silly thing to fret over. Does he think this would improve his site somehow?
Heh -- you must be living, with me, in the wonderful SF Bay area. Yeah -- $200,000 is ghetto here. Expect to pay $750,000 for anything decent.
Why on earth would you continue to live there then?
Obviously you've never been to SF.
My thoughts exactly. SSH is here for a reason.

I'm worried about Y3K already!
It all goes back to Xerox. I swear! =]
