Now they have to think of a way to get the light "out" again. Because after all, what's the point of storing charge in a capacitor's electric field, if you can't get your electrons back when you need them?
The other interesting thing is - if you don't let the light out, how much light can you put in there? Does it "fill up"? And if it does, what happens when it does? Does the universe end or something?
This is a good enough reason for ISP's concerned about security to block DoubleClick.
Wishful thinking. ISP's are far too busy doing IMPORTANT things like going after P2P and torrent users than doing TRIVIAL things like block spam and malicious code.
Stock prices often have no connection with reality, and shorting stock on the basis of clueless management alone is rather risky (except in the very long term). Don't worry though, if it looks volatile enough I'll buy it and short it several times today:)
Kinda by definition, the people with the money are always the ones who end up having to pay for things. Which is why they're always looking for ways to make more money! It's not greed, it's survival:)
Surveys (which is the data collection method used) are always very general and fairly useless. They can, when used correctly, help to identify general trends. However in the scientific community a survey is the weakest form of "evidence" since they tend to be tainted with subjective data. Actually looking at companies and tracking OS changes in a prospective manner as they happen would provide more accurate information, but this requires time, money and cooperation from everyone involved. So we're stuck with surveys. Read them with a pinch of salt.
As a side note, I always laugh at politicians who get all excited/upset about a.5% shift in the "polls". As if it means anything.
Or until they change the file format so much that your (older) version of office can't read their newer files anymore, so you'll be "forced" to upgrade.
Gee, I wonder if changing the file format once in a while can generate more profit for Microsoft... not that your spreadsheet data will be much different, but let's write it back to front this time in the new format, and see what happens. Pay the tax, please.
Interesting item in TFA about if one of the four cores is unstable or malfunctions, they disable it and sell the chip as a three-core chip. Now I'm no engineer, but I certainly hope that deactivating a core is done physically at the factory and not through software/firmware, otherwise I can imagine a generation of viruses that go around zapping people's cores...!
orient, occident, not my fault if people take "offense" to words that have existed for hundreds of years. I still think the PC bullshit is uncalled for.
Bonus points for this idiot minister using a bullshit "a friend of a friend is in Al Quaeda, therefore all foreigners are dangerous" claim to justify this crap.
let me say that "Asian" is the preferred adjective.
Oh ok. What about people in Siberia? Are they not Asian?
Afghanistan, is that not Asia?
Russia, Korea, and a heck of a lot more... Asia is a continent. Why should I use "Asia" instead of China? As far as I know it's the People's Republic of China, not Asia.
Take your "politically correct" bullshit and shove it up your ass.

1) I live in the third world (Costa Rica) 2) I read books? Check this one out. Of course, books are never a source of knowledge. Especially ones written by Pulitzer prize winners. 3) I have traveled a hell of a lot. 4) I stay up to date with current events (and I don't mean Paris Hilton, Britney Spears or Angelina Jolie).
Hitler did more than just Poland. But he got away with the first few (Rhineland, Austria, Czechoslovakia, etc). After a while everyone said "Hey, this guy just isn't going to stop!".
Who else have you seen China invade/destroy apart from Tibet? Yes they have a beef with Taiwan, but China needs Taiwan and Taiwan needs China, I doubt they will ever have a serious war. No, you can't compare China to Nazi Germany. And yes, you proved Godwin's law.

But there are a ton of virgin websites that would be just a sheer delight to troll.
If you want virgins, go to Iraq, strap a bomb to yourself and walk towards the nearest US patrol. You'll get 72, apparently.

As a day-trader, your logic escapes me :)

Your UID is low enough that you should be used to this crap from the mods by now :)
That's so broad as to be almost useless.

Of course more computers get sold nowadays, too. Adjusted figures would make more sense.
And thats only if the new Office is damm good!!

because people wouldn't have to die in hospital any more just because the flaky hospital computer crashed again.
I'm not a windows fan-boy, but I am curious - how many people have died in hospital because the computer crashed to date?
You won't be using them 24/7

And you call yourself a "gamer"? Heh

Four graphics cards! Now that sounds like a gamer's wet dream.
:)
Yep, only you'll need a 2kW power supply. Can't wait to see your electric bill
But (according to them) blocking crap is how they provide decent internet service...
Bleeding .... is coming from the poor sods you decided to "liberate".
Which is why everyone is dumping the US dollar.

Some people might actually even enjoy it.
How would this negatively affect me?
The extra minute or so per passenger adds up, when you're waiting in line.

China isn't the only cheapest manufacturing country on the planet..
No, but so far it's the only country (bar India) that has the winning formula. Who the hell is going to open a company in, say, Angola? No thanks.
