I usually wound up DMing when I did play as a kid, so it's nice to have a method of playing the old classics.

What I desperately hope about this is that it will stop the trend of companies combining sick time and vacation time. Even before my company's most recent merger with a corporation that did the above misdeed, I had co-workers who would come to work sick (and get me sick) with diseases they had contracted from their hellspawn, who caught it in public school. Finally management conveyed to them to STAY THE FUCK HOME WHEN YOU ARE SICK. THE REST OF US DON'T WANT YOUR FLU. That won't work now though, sick time eats into vacation time now, so those same morons will intentionally infect the rest of us, just to make sure they have time to take the kids to visit Aunt Millie.

    People suck. Alot.

The fact that I could die because some moron is too stupid to stay away from other people when he's feeling sick pisses me off more than a little.

I doubt the "is there a problem with this story" link would even BE there if the intent was to ignore everyone.

The current shipping PS2 has an ethernet port out of the box. The adapter is no longer a seperate purchase.

I have all three consoles, (and bought a broadband adapter for my older PS2) but never found a compelling reason to buy the broadband adapter for the GC. Heck I've seen better reasons to try to find one for my Dreamcast. Having multiple consoles, the GC would not be the first choice for me if a game was available for all three consoles. It's far better suited for the games Nintendo puts out, that are unavailable elsewhere anyhow.

The available market (that would be the subset of GC gamers who have the Broadband adapter for it) is almost certainly too small to justify the expense.

I think the spokesweasel mis-spoke anyhow. They were probably equating integrated Ethernet with having "a service". Marketing folks aren't usually the brightest bulb on the tree anyhow. They don't have to be.

BTW: Given how late it is, I hardly thing SC:Ghost could be characterized as "rushed out the door".

Also, I would buy the console eventually, because there are more games coming out that I'm interested in. A bunch of sports sims (yawn) and Quake 4 (that one I wouldn't play on a console) don't make a compelling case for me to pick the console up at launch, however.

Exactly. The only way I'd be upset about this is if I had been foolish enough to pre-order a console bundle based on this game being available. Thankfully, I did not, and I can now wait until either this game, or another I care about is released for the XBox 369 before I shell out money for one.

I would much rather the game work right out of the box then go through some of the game-save breaking patches that Elder Scrolls 3 had.

The games that I'm betaing now (can't say due to NDA) I'm concentrating on testing solo play, to make sure that customers that prefer that playstyle "most" of the time have an option. Obviously, some things in these games will require groups. Basic advancement should not be one of them.
