Natalie Portman and Hot Grits can finally expose themselves in pink/ greenish hair running around dancing around fire rejoicing and singing troll hymms...
hmmm looks like the current phonesex operators will be out of jobs! all because everything will be automated... all the fantasy created in text by freaky greasy haired guy geeks...
if you stick to version 99b then it wont hog as much. you wont even get those stupid banners. i'm sure a lot of things in 2000 or 2001 are practically useless. stick with 99b.
debian's good for it's stability (and of course i have to say how much i like their philosophies). but think about it, people often complain that the newest things arent packaged in the 'stable' release and that their video card isnt supported because potato only includes xfree3.3.6...
it's only a voting system... doesn't need much.
it doesnt risk any money of any cooperation, it's free. you dont want it to crash.
speaking of linux on handhelds, i was wondering if anyone of you know why companies chose linux over other operating systems? For instance, QNX is a really nice one. Doesnt take much space, and fits right into a single 1.44M floppy. Would this have anything to do with licences again?
i dont think people would use their palms to write endless perl code or chat on irc.... (yet)
My biggest concern is the car CD players that actually are computers not being able to play these discs.
arent all cd players a computer some sort of another? they all need some sort of processing...
but if you mean they are somehow able to filter the data going on between a cd-rom and the actual computer it would be really interesting to see how the current standard encoding does have anything to do with the effect...:-\
china already has access to dvd technology... those bastards have been doing illegal machine modifications to allow everything from each zone to be "viewable". (bastards in a good way, because i truely support them). there are also discramblers out there so that you can use for DVD->VHS recordings... so wot's the deal?
it's probably the emotional engine that they dont want to share? but that's a propriety thing, not an industrial issue.
what? :)
