In reality, the true old-school definition of Liberal should be applied to Newt Gingrich Republican Revolutionaries because they were trying to rock the boat and change the status quo. Old-school meaning how Liberal was defined 100 years ago.

Today, Liberalism, has been usurped by Socialists. In America, there are enough people that associate Socialists with Communists. And slowly Liberal is being connected to Socialism, which is connected to Communism. Whether this be fair or not.

Simple fact, Liberalism basically means more state control of the economy. Who disagrees with that statement?

There's a big difference in x86 vs. ARM assebly.

Basically, with x86, there's all this worry about segment registers. Also, in x86 certain registers are used for certain things.

With ARM, all you registers are basically treated equal.

also, on ARM (THUMB), you may optimize your code differently. For instance, conditional instructions... With conditionals, you do the comparison, but no jumps for branching. You may write the if code, sprinkled with the else code. the reason for this is to increase cache hits. It's hard to explain, but very cool for cache.

I'm sure that there are similar things for intel cisc chips of late. But, one thing is for sure.

99% of all the code that is executed in the world today takes very little advantage of these architectural optimizations. The Chips are just so fast that it's not worth the bother.
