    Well, they beat FC6 into shape for RHEL5 so that argument is bunk.

    What feature are you looking for that's not available in RHEL5? I don't see significant changes having occurred since the release of RHEL5 to warrant a new release of RHEL6 right now. I believe it's a wise move to wait for KVM to fully bake and then make that the major feature of RHEL6.

    Mark patted himself on the back for the last release nailing the release date. From all accounts I've read it was a horrible release and took weeks to shape up into something that people could trust. Reading the comments in this post so far it seems that they've done the same with this release.

    You make it sound as if they're snooping the data coming down your line. That's entirely different from refusing to store such on their servers. They're not preventing you from going to other news servers as far as I know.

    How's it convoluted? The patches generally use the same names as the patch files submitted upstream.

    Add "skipx" to your kickstart and it will then default to runlevel 3.

    Not likely, CentOS is the perfect counter-example that RHEL is following the GPL fine and the license is working as intended without loopholes. RedHat hasn't been overly noisy, but some acts they've done clearly demonstrate they aren't keen on the existence of CentOS, but accept they can't do anything about it. Such as?

    Besides being a troll, It's also my understanding that many of the apps car pc users enjoy aren't available in Linux nor are similar replacements. Specificly in the area of map applications that tie into GPS.

    I find it interesting that it is "leaked" the same day as Ubuntu "Breezy Badger" 5.10. Is MS trying to subvert its toughest FOSS competitor?
    This actually happened 4 days ago. Slashdot is just typically a week behind reporting anything other than news favorable to Linux and the opensource community.

    Yes, the rest of the world slipstreams service pack 2, installs without a network connection, enables XP firewall before hopping on the Internet, then downloads whatever other patches are available.

They're uninformative, biased, and it's blatently obvious he's unwilling to actually learn FreeBSD beyond installing it two or three times each new release and writing a review catering to the already pre-established opinions of Linux users.

    It supported all of my hardware immediately including nVidia SATA, Silicon Image 3114 SATA RAID, nVidia 6600GT pci-e, and the marvell yukon network device which are all fairly new products (less than 4 months old). It did not support the nVidia nic without drivers from nVidia.
