i was going to flame you or go to your site and make comment on your address book but then i thought why bother as you are obviously socially retarded anyway and probably couldn't spell any of the complicated big words i could use.
Oh and PS im not black but i can guess what colour your neck is

In a move which has stunned the computer industry Microsoft Corporations (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced a lawsuit against the pillars found in the ocean floor recently.
Microsoft Public Relations Spokesperson OJ Simpson stated that the company has taken this action due to the possible confusion that the pillars make cause in the general worldwide marketplace.
"when most people think of monolithic objects which never move or change and with heads made of stone they naturally think of MIcrosoft" said mr Simpson "We dont want this to change. These pillars are obviously a blatant rip off or our corporate philosophy and must be stamped out".
Microsoft has asked the court to deliver a preliminary injunction preventing the pillars from doing anything 'pillar' like until a formal court hearing can be held.
In related new Microsoft announce the release of MS Pillar 2000, their latest product in the new MSGarden range of computer themed garden accesories, this joins the upcoming MSLawn and MSLawnmower as part of the new push into non computer related markets for microsoft.
Microsoft says that it sees its move into other areas of consumer life as an exciting opportunity to develop new fields of business "just think what we can do when we have a monopoly in garden products and home appliances" cackled Public Relations Spokesman OJ Simpson "Today the garden toomorrow the world"
Microsoft Shares close 59c higher on the announcement.
Open Source pundits have announced that they are working on a GPL version of both MSPillar and MSLawn at the moment and will shortly be releasing their beta version of MSLawnmower (called Scissors).
When asked for comment on the microsoft actions Apple CEO Steve Jobs praised Bill Gates and Microsoft whilst nervoucly looking around and mumbling something about 'deals with Satan' under his breath

I read this with sadness but very little surprise. I used to be a EFNET user but left in disgust after the channell takeovers by the l33t kiddies and haxors got to the point where it was no longer worth it.
I moved to Austnet (as im an aussie) and all was fine but in the end i bailed from there - as an op and channell owner i spent the last 5 months of my online life in constant flame battles and fights to prevent channel takeovers.
We had numerous DOS attacks and hack attempts which succeeded in downing our service on more than one occasion and wiping out host servers, not to mention mail bombing attacks on channell mailboxes and racist bullshit on broadcasts (yes you white power fuckers know who you are).
I checked the other night when i was rebuilding my PC at home to find the logs of my last session - 2 hours online and over 100 bans - so i just hung up my gunbelt and keyboard and decided it was not worth it.
Im sorry to see this happen - IRC used to be a great place to go with intelligent talk and good fun, now all it is is lame losers and 'i owns joo' crap in many cases. Another piece of web history gone
fucktard ? anti MS ? huh - im and MCSE+I who works as an IT manager in a WIN2k operation so im hardly anti MS, and my palm prefences are perosnal as i said as i find its usage of limited resources more elegant not to mention its size.
Having said that i will have to give the newest version of CE a look as i havent had much to do with it and thus in the intersets of being open minded i will do so
Oh and the post by cyborg monkey is as offensive as i expect on/. and as intelligent as well so i wont bother getting offended - after all your'e only a troll
Umm i dont want to seem dumb but is this for real or is it a joke ? can you provide the link to the MS page (no im not trolling i am really interested)
I used to sell PSION handheld computers many years ago - still have an old one.
We recently saw a lot of people move from PalmPilots to the Psions and i have one on my desk (supporting them means i need one - thats what i say anyway) and have found it to be great.
The sad thing is this is another nail in the handheld marketplace, another palm competitor gone.
Cant we do a linux based or GPL handheld PC ? surely it cant be that hard can it?
Umm thats the scary thing, there are exclusive IT recruiters and exclusive IT recruitment companies, in Australia we have hundreds - companies like ICON recruitment have world wide reach - and if you piss one or 2 of them off they all black list you.
Its scary and horrendous but unfortuantley they do exist and the market seems to be growing - but they know nothing about most aspects of the industry.
I will says that i wish they would drop the hypen- good post travis
How is Aurebach going to defend the massive job losses to his voters when Hughes and other companies decide to pull up stakes and relocate to another state or country.
Another sign of the short sighted actions of a politician
This is the sort of thing i expected to see Australia try firt - damn we missed out again.
But seriously i seem to recall something about space been a free trade zone (some treaty from the 60's or something) and thus wouldn't that nake this impossible ?
Anyway i would love to see how they plan to reclaim the property they confiscate for unpaid taxes ? and which satellites are they going to tax - the ones that are in geostationary orbit or the geosychronous ones ? (think those are the right terms)
If i was hughes and their customers i would just turn off the feeds to the californian customers, no sat tv, phones etc etc
Not at school but as an employer i have seen this all too often - and its not just the degree people - if i had a dollar for every 'i have an MCSE so i am god' person i have interviewed i would no longer need to work.
Another poster here commented on age and experience and how true that is - we have go to the point where we won't employ anyone with less than 5 years relevant experience regardless of quals - we have been burnt too many times now.
We have even employed support people with customer service skills over 'Papered' applicants as for some roles - helpdesk, desktop support etc its easier to teach someone Tech skills who already has client skills than it is to teach a degree / MS qualified master of the universe how to talk to a client. (hint you are not god - the client pays your wages so it doesnt matter if they are a moron - help them and talk to them like human beings)
(note to the Experienced programmers / techs - this does not mean you - my personal experience is that mature and skilled coders already have these skills - its only the freshly minted ones who seem to lack it - so im not trolling here OK)
I found the article interesting but have something i think might be worth adding.
In my experience many companies cause prima donna problems thenselves as they dont know how to deal with technical staff. The company i work for currently has this problem as they are not in a technical industry but have grown more and more reliant on technology to functio.n
We have just gone down the process of SAP (2 months into major implementation) and this process has highlighted the schisms in the company and the division between support and front line staff - suddenly the sales staff have to rely on the technical staff to fucntion and they are having trouble coping. For too long the attitude has been that they are only a tech so they are replacable, but now with SAP the realisation has set in that its a different world.
Last year (before i took over the role of manager) our staff turnover was 94% in Tech Servcies, so far this year its been 1 person (15 staff) but as it stands my staff are looking for work as they cannot cope with the support burdens being placed on them nor can they cope with the 18 hour day 6 day weeks which have become standard.
So my comments for employers with 'prima donna' staff are simple questions to ask themselves first.
1. Are my staff adequately trained for the products they support ? when was the last time they had training ?
2. What hours are my staff working in an average week ? has this increased in the last x months ?
3. Do i tell my staff they are doing a good job ? Give them incentives ?
4. Do i pay a wage based on the actual workload they are carrying NOT the market average ?
5. Are my staff happy ? if no whay not ?
6. Do my staff get treated with the respect i would expect in their roles ?
7. If my staff have a problem do they approach me ?
8. What is the company attitude towards my staff ?
If you cannot answer any of these questions positively then the problem may not be your staff it may be you, or your corporate culture.
its easier and smarter to keep skilled and expecienced staff who understand a role or environment than it is to train new staff.
But then again at $289 this product will not make any significant process - this is way way too much to pay for a peripheral device - im in Aust and that is almost $600 our currency so i still think this is likely vapour ware but i may be wrong.
The artcile does not actually say that - the teacher did something we have all done and he got caught for it.
It doesn't matter one bit how much money MS have they still have the right to protect their trademark and licenses against copyright violation as does any company.
The scary thing is that how many of you have sat down and thought about this - where would we be without microsoft, it can be argued that their software has brought around a paradigm shift in computer terms, they are responsible for the explosive growth of the PC in so many ways by making it user friendly for the average person and (yes apple fans this is for you) cost effective!!
Having said that they do appear to be getting more and more heavy handed and aggresive by the day..
I have one thing to add and it may or may not be relevant.. the thing is microsoft arent the only company who do it and the XP asks for less info than the others.
Install PC anywhere or most virus scanners and they ask for more info, or as one poster pointed out try installing on a mac.
The fact is that WPA isnt the evil nemesis it is pointed out to be.... yet
the thing that worries me is not what might be in the product now but what they may have up their sleeve for later.. why not a product that wont work unless you enter a valid credit card (for ID purposes only) or a drivers license number, or a product that is only installable once without you going back and getting another software key (can be done easily you know)... what about a product that appends an invisible piece of code in a watermark that indicates the details of the machine and copy that made it (this is already being done or has been tried)
these are the things that make me worried - we should be fighting this not beacuse its MS or because it mayb a way to make money, we should be fighting it because it may be the last chance we can.
Umm then forgive me if i am wrong but doesnt that make the post a troll post - that is judging by the amount of replies ?
I am only new to this stuff but having been called a troll before for expressing an opinion out of the ordinary i thought a troll was anyone who disagreed with the person applying the label ?
Am i wrong ?
(and no i am not trolling - i AM asking a question)

true true but as i wont use any WinCe (aptly named i think) product due to its bloated memory usage - the palm is the only other alternative out there
I used to sell PSION handheld computers many years ago - still have an old one.

I hope that this is not true
now i understand - and i agree with you - im kind of in the same boat myself
Not at school but as an employer i have seen this all too often - and its not just the degree people - if i had a dollar for every 'i have an MCSE so i am god' person i have interviewed i would no longer need to work.

Man i dont know what to say. Try talking to their faces - but this post makes you seem like an asshole and i dont think that was your intention
The good news is that it now also comes with integrated support for all windows applications and API's
The bad news is that it now also comes with integrated support for all windows applications and API's
And it all fits on one CD, Tar'ed anD Zipped of course
(im not trolling just joking)
He would have been ok if only they hadnt decided to run outlook express for the enterpise mail system - damn that i love you virus to hell !
"This is higly illogical jim, it appears that we are now owned by someone called jeff K"
I dont manage prgrammers only technical staff
I found the article interesting but have something i think might be worth adding.

yup i missed it - damn
oh well consider me spanked
But then again at $289 this product will not make any significant process - this is way way too much to pay for a peripheral device - im in Aust and that is almost $600 our currency so i still think this is likely vapour ware but i may be wrong.
Oh shit im defending microsoft
The artcile does not actually say that - the teacher did something we have all done and he got caught for it.
It doesn't matter one bit how much money MS have they still have the right to protect their trademark and licenses against copyright violation as does any company.

Having said that they do appear to be getting more and more heavy handed and aggresive by the day..
ahh now i understand - thanks for that
i have used microsoft premier tech support - this is the number that costs my company about $10k a year to have access to
And i have never got thru in as short a time as 10 minutes
Can i have the number you call... please
Um i dont write code for a living (im an evil server admin) but even i dont understand this one.
.NET will, maybe not who knows, but i am sure Java won't - the lack of standards will see to it
Which Java ? Sun ? MS ?
The thing is that there is no such thing as one standard Java so therefore it wont become a standard.
Maybe
I know this might seem dense but isnt there an issue of copyright in the case of reverse engineered code ?
.Net and i dont see it has much to offer in some ways - but it will likely be a standard in some ways.
If there is then doesnt this all smell a little fishy ?
As a microsoft server guy i have been and seen and looked at
The fact is that even though i use MS products for work and on this machine my webservers are all FreeBSD and i run Slackware on my server here - i cant help but thinking there are products out there that already do all of this and with better developed implementations ?
As i said forgive me if i appear dense
nope its definetly not there - been through the entire page - this one smells more than a little fishy
