King of the Hill and Family Guy are two completely different things. Comparing them is like comparing Apples to Oranges.
Comparing Family Guy and The Simpsons is like comparing Fujis to Jona Gold. They are simialar in many ways. The families are almost complete copies of each other in terms of numbers. Brian is almost a knockoff of Homer Simpson.
But again, they kinda go in a different direction. Family Guy goes for the more offensive side of things. It's almost like combining The Simpsons and South Park.
Look at it this way, Refs and network execs have always been in the same category. Once the call is made, there is no going back.
I think there are serious and profound problems with the nielson rating system that keeps suckie programs on TV and under-rates excellent programs. I don't know if their sample is too small or too dumb.
Despite the Orwellian overtones, I think the Cable Guides could provide a larger and more accurate sample of what people are watching. Take $5/month off the bill and they will track your viewing habits on digital cable box. You get to help decide what stays on and what doesn't.
I would add "The Critic" to this list as well. I thought it was freakin hilarious. Someone must have agreed because it went through three generations before it finally got killed for good.
Shit, Piss, Fuck, Cunt, Cocksucker, Motherfucker, and Tits.
My god a world where TV stars swore just as bad as mommy and daddy. That would be terrible.
Despite all the prohibitions of the FCC, people seemingly have been using these words since well before radio. They are making things worse because they make these words seem more taboo then they actually are.
Seriously, Tits!!!! As in, tits on a cow. Oops, did that make it worse????
I know that some people object to those words. I myself recoil from them. But deep down I realize that this is simply cultural conditioning. To somehow think that we are above and beyond Shit, Piss, Fuck, Cunt, Cocksucker, Motherfucker, and Tits is kinda silly.
In fact, I HATE bicycle helmets. Their sole purpose is to show all the people driving around that the person on the bike is middle class, has a car at home, can afford a $100 helmet, and is seriously concerned about saving the environment to the point of actually going out into the public on a bicycle. The guys who don't speak English and ride a bicycle because they make $7 an hour and have four kids aren't wearing helmets.
When you crash and go quadrapalegic, everyone else's insurance dollars will have to pay for your maintenance. Helmet laws are public safety issues as well as good economics.
How about a two wheel drive system for mountain bikers. The power could be transferred via a shaft through the frame. A chain could then transfer power to the front wheel.
Front wheel power would be especially valuable while going uphill.

The muppets I've seen on Farscape rival good CGI. It's great to see good artistry match slick high-tech drivel.
Unanswered questions are good. It gets people to watch the next episode (and re-runs) Open books are boring.
The most successfull shows on TV (Soap Operas) have story lines that span years. The key is to keep adding new themes to drag in new viewers and keep things fresh.
I'm waiting to see someone make a sci-fi soap opera;-)

Minus a few goofey scenes, BiCenentennial man was a VERY good film. The TV adds that tried to sell it, made it look goofey.
It was actually a well thought out discussion of the ramifications of artificial life and a desire to be human.
Mourning Star Trek is like Mourning Dracula. It's not alive, but it's not dead. Voyager and Enterprise are/were terrible.
It's undead. It would be nice for Paramount to cut off it's head, cut out the heart, and finally burn it. The real Star Trek died with Gene Roddenberry. The animated corpse still adorns telivision.

They seemingly dissasembled Crichton and Aeryn. Of course both characters have been killed before;-)
Assuming that Chricton and Aeryn are permanently gone is like assuming the Picard is dead every time they disassemble him on a transporter pad.
Hey don't forget, we're in an "information" economy now. Meaning were all supposed to go out and get better educated. That will elevate us over the enslaved masses of the 3rd world.
Yeah whatever. It turns out that abused, captive labor in third world nations are just as smart as we are. What's more we've been happily educating replacements for US workers at American Universities subsidized by American taxpayers. Woohooo. Lexus and Olive Tree my ass.
If I ever run across Thomas Friedman, he'll be pulling an olive tree out his ass.
Which is funny because we all know what a commoner Dubuya Bush is. Yeah the scion of a powerful Eastern family, graduate of Yale, member of the Skull & Bones secret society. Grandson of a Senator, Banker and Nazi Callaborator. Son of a congressman, CIA director, oil millionaire (now billionaire) and president. He's just like you and me;-)
Dubaya aint from Texas, he's from Connecticut. He moved to Texas cause that's where his Daddy set him up with jobs. Just cause he talks all texas like don't make him a Texan.
It's amazing how someone can throw around adjectives with no real real respect to what they mean. By any reasonable EVERYONE connected to the Bush administration is ELITIST!!!!
Bush's father armed Saddam Hussein. Rumsfeld shook his hand and praised him as an ideal Middle Eastern leader.
As far as the dictators are concerned, they are STILL dictatorships. Bush has only replaced one dictator with another. True democracy is still pending in both Afghanistan AND Iraq.

ABC then Fox then Comedy Central.
That's kinda interesting. The Simpsons started when Fox had little or no expectations for most of their shows ;-)

I've found that beeps actually make things funnier. It's like bleeping the kids on South Park.
Yep, all those damn conservatives in hollywood mucking up the works ;-)
I liked DS9 A LOT.
Voyager sucked MAJOR time. The plots were written by people with 5th grade science educations. DS9 was more of a political drama.
I'm curious what type of friction you'll encounter in a chain drive vs a shaft drive?? If it's comparible than great. What are the wear parts???
Also wouldn't you need a telescoping tube to accomodate a full suspension bike???

One can recharge using the drivetrain ;-)
;-)
In fact a general power system in the frame that taps the drivetrain would be great for frontlights

If Farscape goes forward, they need to keep adding characters for sake of novelty AND variety. The stories are character driven.

Yes but if your being paid the same as a meatpacker, it kind of defeats the point of education.

If Bush was anything like Hitler, the Secret police would soon be at your door for posting that.
Patience, the Third Reich wasn't built in a day. The first step is information collection. One could call it "Total Information Awarness".
Either that, or peek warrants that allow the FBI to search your home without you ever knowing it.
Republicans are also very fond of corporate welfare as well as welfare for private education. They are also in favor of public welfare for religion.
;-) Enough electronic voting machines and he can rig them for good!!!!!
Lets not forget that Hitler also came to power by rigging elections as well.
