Not exactly correct, they are called discrete codes and as long as you program the Pronto correctly it can handle that situation. It can be a pain to get the codes, but once you have the codes (most available from remotecentral.com), it will work great.
The one thing that it has had problems with is some Bang & Olufsen equipment. They use some funky high frequency IR signals.
The HDTV standards weren't even finalized until '93. The FCC didn't adopt until these until '95 or '96. The first broadcast of Jay Leno in HDTV 1040i didn't happen until April of 1999.
I have recently installed XP RC2 and Mandrake 8.0 and they both allow the installer to create all the accounts from the installation "script". Which is really nice when you are installing on a system and need to get on to the next task.

Too much background noise to sift out the intersting bits.
Semantically, it might be ok to say heat rises, but physically it is incorrect.
Given two air masses, one cold and one hot, the colder denser air mass will sink which will force/push the hot air mass up.
As an experiment try this, put a ping-pong ball at the bottom of a box and fill the box up with marbles. Then shake the box. The smaller heavier marbles will force the ping-pong ball to the top.

Well AC if you said EMF fields ... I don't need to say anything else.
