The DDos messed up the tweeting about lunch, but with any luck it will be back in time for them to inform you when their lunch is leaving their bodies.
Linux failed because netbook vendors shipped crappy non-standard distros. But Windows also failed because MS had to provide an 8 year old version of Windows to run on them, since their mainstream Vista barely works on top-of-the-line desktops.
My school said they'd help me get a job, and they did. Obviously there were no guarantees but they certainly did their part. Of course both the job market and my GPA were better than hers.
My trips to & from work are well under 100 miles. However, I frequently drive over 100 miles on Saturdays. In my spread-out city, that's not hard to do. I doubt that I'm that far over the norm in my city either. And, no I'm not buying an extra car just for the weekends.
The only time I ran COMPLETELY out of gas was when my gage was broke. But I've often ran low on gas when I was far from home. With a gas car, I just pull into a station and pump for 5 minutes. With an electric, where will I stay for the 8 hours it takes to charge the SOB?
My ONLY vehicle can handle 100% of my needs. Why should I get a 2nd car that might get me to & from work, but would never manage my looong weekend drives? I'll stick to just one car, thank you.
Interesting. I've never heard of "WC", but I know the other terms, though only foriegners say "loo". AFAIK, nobody's ever called it the "piss/poop room", but if they did, I'd know what they meant.:)
I do have a Facebook under my real name, but it's rather boring. I post the good stuff under other identities. Actually, even under "anonymous" handles, I'm careful what I post. It might be possible, though not easy, to find a link between Cro Magnon and $MyRealName, and I keep that in mind when I'm tempted to mention where I hid the bodies of the last people who pissed me off. Oops, did I say that out loud?
Patching a security hole ASAP is a good thing. But it's still unusual behavior from Microsoft. One would expect them to wait 2 weeks for the normal Patch Tuesday.
At least with TV, I can usually fast-forward past the commercials (Tivo user). But with the radio, I either have to suffer through them, or turn the radio off for 5 minutes until the commercials end.
You can't win there. If you email them, they ignore it because everyone emails them. If you write by hand and snail-mail it, they throw it away because you were eating powdered donuts and didn't wash your hands before writing the letter.
To each his own. For me, writing cursive is faster and easier than print, but typing is much better than either. Reading most cursive (including mine) is a PITA. Occasionly I jot quick notes, and those are in cursive rather than print, but anything important is typed on the computer. Including my journal.

I'm a bit confused. Can't they just train them to NOT put certain information on public sites?

More likely, its users will fork off something based on Slackware.
4) When I've burned the last fumes to get me to a station, it does NOT take 8 hours to fill my tank.

I'm afraid my very non-geek GF would think I was asking her to bake me something.

Damn, we've lost Duke Nukem AND Debian. The only benchmarks left are flying pigs and a freezing Satan.

More than that. I heard about it on the radio on the way to work.
Even if he wins, many people will now associate Horizon with mold & lawsuits. Great job!
I like HooBing myself.

*sigh* As usual, I'm way behind the times. I'm still using infrared, but I do plan to upgrade to the visible spectrum in the near future.

I can write all the lower letters, but I don't remember all the capitals.
Heh! I'm nearly 50, and it's been a long time since I've left a paper note on a cow-orker's desk. Email's better in every way.

Obviously, you've never tried to read one of my aunt's letters.
I thought they were turning LSD into medicine.
