I never even CONSIDERED pay-per-view until I got a Tivo. If I'm paying for something and it goes *poof* because I got a phone call, or a knock on the door, or my Mom needed me to drive her somewhere, I would be royally PISSED!!
That might be true for the first century or so, but after awhile people would get so bored that they'd start trying new things just to hold on to their sanity, and the hell with the risks.
That's my main reason. Most movies DO suck, but there are a few good ones, but I don't even go to the theaters for those anymore. I'd rather wait for the DVD and be able to see it somewhere quiet, clean, affordable, and no commercials (or at least the ability to FF past them - so far).
My experience differs. I know several people who switched, some on my advice, and they were not Microsoft haters. Some of them DID have a bad experience with IE, but that IS a good reason to switch. They made a rational decision and concluded that IE was teh suxor and switched to FF or Opera.
The correct thing is to get an upgrade for the app
I was already using the "latest and greatest". And the vender wasn't likely to release a new version for several months, and no guarantee that IT would work under a User Account.
And Microsoft is complicit in this by not putting enough pressure on the application developers to fix their apps to not require administrator access
IMHO, even something as simple as making User Accounts the default would have helped to encourage devs to make their crap run under a limited account. They knew what the default was and that they could get sloppy and most users would never notice, let alone complain.
The US Constitution is certainly ONE of the best in the world. It would be nice if we actually followed it.
No company is as badly run as the UN!
OMG, the BSD trolls are dying!
Dell is finally giving us a more stable and secure OS!
Even if they DO evaporate in a puff of smoke, it's crappy. Nobody wants to inhale old DVD smoke! It's probably more cancer-causing than cigerettes!
Not in my city! If anything the personal mail slot/box is more important than ever as they rip out the conglomerated mailboxes to save money.

The sad thing is, I can believe that! It seemed to me that the Democrats TRIED to pick the worst candidate they could find.
How is that different from the current situation for Slashdotters?
30! I want a 20 year old body! I was already going downhill at 30.

They have -> I have
Expensive Sports Car -> Car that is often behind tow truck
$3000 Cell Phone -> Damn, it broke again!
Jet Plane -> Plane? I can barely afford a ticket!
Mansion -> Smallish house in "gunshot alley"
Ming Vase -> A vase I bought at Dollar General
And I earn more than a lot of people I know!
I predict that we'll get wiped out by a collapsed supernova before we achive "utopia".

Not just Win9X. My old NT4 box at work crashed far more often than my Linux machine.
SW2 sucked WORSE than SW1, hard as it is to believe. I've HEARD that SW3 was much better than the other two, but I haven't seen it, so I don't know.
I've gotten so fed up with movie theaters, I'm not sure I would have seen III anyway. But the fact that I & II sucked didn't help.

The "average joe" doesn't have a sixpack? Then where did he get his beerbelly?
The display is still small, and the keyboard is teh suxor!
Augh! You bastard!
You especially don't want your SO to have access to your bank accounts after she's discovered that love letter to Susan in your email!
Minor nitpick, but Katrina might still be the worst disaster this year. The tsunami happened late LAST year.
You should not have the freedom to post that!
