I am the webmaster for a medium sized university (10,000+ students). In the past year we average 393,036.42 hits a day and around 14,841.48 unique sessions a day. While not much compared to other sites, it still gives a good idea of browser popularity. Plus, the majority of our users aren't nerds.
Despite the fact that I've lived in Georgia for 10 years, I was recently
brought in to "the station" because I didn't have my drivers license with
me and the State patrol couldn't find me in their database. All for a
lousy expired tag (by one month!).
I had other photo id's, including a student id with my SSN. The officer
said that the situation happens all the time. I was amazed that they
couldn't reliably use anything but my driver's license number to look me
up.

I work for a medium sized university that got their main box hacked a year ago. While helping the sys-admin rebuild everything I told him to disable telnet on the machine and tell the users to use SSH. You can't imagine the look on my face when he said... "What's SSH?"
I've thought the same thing in the past, until I heard Click and Clack talk about it...

Here are our browser stats since January...
As you can see... IE still has 92.75% of our users held hostage.

I've asked santa for the Pop-Up Kama Sutra for years now, but so far no luck.

I'm not big on computer games... but about a year ago I got addicted to an open-source, networked game called BZFLAG
It's simplicity and tight community has made me the kind of nerd I used to make fun of.
