Apparently Virgin Records and EMI are doing something like this already. While looking through the booklet to the new A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step (in stores now!) this little message from EMI was on the inside page: "Thank you for buying this music and for supporting the artists, songwriters, musicians and others who've created it and made it possible. Please remember that this recording and artwork are protected by copyright law. Since you don't own the copyright, it's not yours to distribute. Please don't use Internet services that promote the illegal distribution of copyrighted music, give away illegal copies of discs or lend discs to others for copying. It's hurting the artists who created the music. It has the same effect as stealing a disc from a store without paying for it. Applicable laws provide severe civil and criminal penalties for the unauthorised reproduction, distrobution and digital transmission of copyrighted sound recordsings. I agree with you and think a boycott is the way to go. Unfortunately, I think when they see their sales go down by even 30%, they'll still blame it on P2P.
I typed for years on a 101 key "regular" keyboard, since I was a kid, and never have I had any pain or discomfort. Then my dad bought a MS Natural and I HATED it. I kept having to look down to check what keys were on which side of the break (as someone mentioned already) and it was a hassle. But once I learned the layout again I loved it, and in the 3 years since I've bought two for myself. These days I can't stand using traditional keyboards. They feel too crowded and I hate bending my wrists in to cram into such a small area. For me it's not about pain, just freedom of movement and general comfort I guess.
I can't count how many times these companies have told me to change my passwords regularly for security. But hell, I'm not worried about my roommate staring over my shoulder everyday as I sign on to AIM. If my ISP can't beef up it's security to keep my password from hackers then I can't put up much of a fight now can I?
You can kick in your doors all you want, you can smash in those pretty bay windows you bought last April...sure, people might think you're crazy, but that's NOT breaking and entering. Just the same if I go out in my driveway with a baseball bat, blow out the passenger side window, rip out the cd player from my car and go pawn it in the morning I'm not committing a crime.

I'm still waiting for them to explain why rockets work in space. It IS still a vacuum right?
