He's right about one thing, it was the heat that breaked the towers. But it wasn't just that. The towers are stabding up with the aid of a core of concrete and steel which is covered with a layer of asbestos. The asbestos should in normal cases protect the metal from getting to hot (which makes it softer). According to calculations this "core" should withstand a fire. But when the planes smashed in to one tower, the core was damaged. And because of that the steel in the core went hotter than it should have gotten from a normal fire.
I think that the towers would have been brought down by planes using hydrogen fuel because the core was damaged and couldn't protect the buildings akilles heel.

Hydrogen fuel makes a "colder" fire than burning airplane fuel. That is because it has a lower energy per mass ratio. But hydrogen fuel can't be applied (I think) because you will need much more of this kind of fuel than ordinary fuel. An ordinary boeing contains about 56000 litres of fuel, to substitute that with hydrogen you will have to multiply that number with about 10 or so. Also Im not sure that planes could use hydrogen fuel because it gives lesser energy. Maybe it just can substitute gasolin as a fuel.

But one thing is for certain, any type of aircraft is, or can be, used as a terrorist device!!!

Great now we just have to make sure that spammers can't send 'round their dirty stuff. A law prohibiting spam is of course good, but will it be effective?
I mean, there are some problems with spam:
    • The first is that spammers don't care about any law, if they are outside EU they don't have to care about the law either (actually most of the spam comes from USA).
    • Second, there are some problems if you want to track down spammers because they does'nt send the spam from their computers. Sending millions of emails from your own computer is risky business, and also demanding, so most of the spam are sent via some "innocent" server. Long lists of this unprotected servers can easily be found on the net. With the webcrawlers out there digging up millions of adresses, theres no lack of receivers either.

So spam can be stopped at serverlevel, but how do you do that?
First of all make sure that the email server is'nt set to forward mail coming from "outside". If that is the case, use the "relay control"-function. And also make sure you upgrade old servers that does'nt have this kind of protection. Configurate "reverse lookup" for the server in the dns. With reverse lookup your email server can verify that the sender really is who he claims to be. That should stop alot of spam.

    Happy anti-spamming ;-)

  13. Simulated child porn vs other simulated stuff on Free Speech, Porn And Internet Controls · · Score: 3, Insightful

If someone have'nt noticed, theres a big difference between simulated porn and anything else simulated. Take for example an ordinary scary movie, it is intended to make the people scared, not with the intent of arousing murderous feelings in the viewer. Porn movies are made to make people excited and wanna have sex. Im sure that anybody more likely would like to have sex with a real girl instead of jerkin' off in front of the computer (or...?). Well I guess that almost all of you say yes to that, having real sex can hardly be compared to a pornmovie (simulated or not), can it?

But simulated child porn, with what intentions do you think that someone will do such a movie? Whatever the answer to that question is, theres a fact that who ever looks at it, will surely wanna do it in real instead. And theres also a fact that child pornography (simulated or not) is done with the intent of arousing pedophilic feelings in the viewer.

Theres also several reports which support the fact that the availability of child porn will increase the number of child molestations. And that also conforms to virtual stuff too (but maybe some will get a bigger "kick" out of it if they know it is real children suffering).

So one can conclude that theres several reasons why banning child porn is rigth, it is not only because of the harmful effect of creating the porn on the real children involved. It is because they who watch this, also want to to the stuff they see on the screen.

And why should the producer of such a movie want to stick with just child pornography, because it is simulated they can do anything they want. They can kill the children, cut them into pieces and do more horrible stuff. I say that somewhere we have to draw the line. And I think that the line should be drawn to protect the children in our society. Or would you like to have your kids at the kindergarten when you know that their teacher watches movies with titles as "child porn slaughter 3000" or "kindergarten rapist" at his spare time, or at work?

It seems that this new kind of violence used in porn encourages already sick guys to commit sex crimes. This is also the indication for child molestation, which has grown exponentially as an effect of the use of internet to spread material related to this kind of crimes.
It is a fact that people that watches this kind of "porn" and/or normal porn doesnt just "masturbate themselves to orgasm, and then stop thinking about sex.", they get inspired about it, fixated about it. And some become sex criminals beacuse their large consumtion of porn, they just can't stop watching it. Why Alaska? There are several answers, first the answer to your question:
    • For this mission, the goal isn't to leave the planet (gravitational escape). It's just to get up in orbit around earth, so the stuff will still be trapped in the gravitational field. But to be able to "kick" the rocket out into space from an orbit, it is better that you do this from the equator. To save fuel of course.
    • The advantage of launching from this location is its wide-open launch corridor and an unobstructed down-range flight path. The location is ideal for launching expendable launch vehicles with payloads requiring low-Earth polar or sun-synchronous orbits. A look at an overwiev of the launch complex gives some more understanding. Because of the earth rotation, the rocket will fly out over the Pacific.
    • The weather on Kodiak Island is similar to that of the northwest region of the U.S. with an average rainfall comparable to Cape Canaveral in Florida (which is favorable :).
    • Along with an excellent geographic location for aerospace operations, Alaska is in the world's most active trading hemisphere and is positioned as the crown of the Pacific Rim. This strategic location, combined with a fully developed transportation system, allows for efficient logistics and worldwide distribution. Alaska has a long history of aerospace activity, and with the wealth of technical resources and skilled personnel in our state, is leading the way for an emerging commercial aerospace industry.

Ok I know after all this math that if the system gives a false positive only 1 in 1000 times it isn't good. But if humans can check this guys caught by this technology, I think it would work rather fine.

But thats not so important, the important stuff is whether or not those 11th September terrorists would be caught by it or not. I think that they would be caught, if they where listed in the database. But these guys where not in _ANY_ database, they werent suspected for anything at all.

This is why these kind of terrorists can do their dirty actions, its because they are people without criminal records. A terroristleader would be rather stupid if he sent rough-mannered criminals on the trip. So he does it the smart way, he searches for ordinary people with the exception that this people are fanatic in their beliefs. Those kinda guys are free to move everywhere, so there will be no problem. And we cant stop every person thats known to have a fanatic belief, can we?

The most important thing to notice is that any person is a dangerous weapon, but he can be handled by the people on the plane. But if this dangerous person have a weapon, you cant stop him. So we must stop people with dangerous weapons and not focus on those with dangerous faces. Ok, he says that you can make 6 copies of the record, but he also said "I (also) smoked once but I didn't inhale...", yeah right, what a hero eh? I wonder how they does to limit the number of copies that can be made to 6 when you cant write to the original cd in the first place. How does the cd know that it has been copied 6 times?

What I heard about this matter it certainly not seems to be able to copy the record at all, put it on another media or anything else that duplicates it contents...

So what does he really want? I think he's just a guy who wants to get _alot_ of money from the record companies. Just consider the fact that he says "we are designing the software for the 99 percent of the people who don't want to steal the music". I think that if 99% of the ppl don't steal it, why bother doing the copyprotection in the first place. He also says the income for his company will be about $200 million revenue because of this!!

I think that most of the people that copies records from friends or so, doesn't afford (or doesnt want) to buy the original anyway, so it all evens out in the end.

The problem nowadays is the normal user who doesnt know that Outlook etc (All Microsoft products) are true evil. Normal users can't be blamed because they are just the average users.
