c|net : The problem [...] could be exploited by criminals to create an actual eBay link that redirects customers to a malicious site, the representative said.
Heise: The emails, pretending to come from eBay, circulate on the net since February 12th. eBay was informed about it, however did not react so far.
The answer is no for any recent build of FreeType 2, since it comes with a "auto-hinting" module that was specifically designed to completely ignore the TrueType bytecodes.
Myth 2: Apple is suing (or sued) FreeType
This complete myth apparently started with this article on the SlashDot news site. Too bad the editors didn't care to check the submitted link nor even tried to contact us, we could have helped them !!
IOW, your claim is patently false

Exactly. So why spend much more on a cure against Anthrax than against diseases that kill thousands each year? That's what the open letter is about.

Anthrax, actually. Odd that we don't hear much of that anymore.
IANAL, but contracts that are illegal are not binding. A NDA can't keep you from reporting a crime. But the Uniform Trade Secrets Act keeps you from telling trade secrets to the press.
Let me guess: apart from protecting your Windows boxes from the evil outside, you also have a strict "nobody brings his own notebook" policy. Well, the man in the iron mask also was never victim of a pick-pocket.
Yeah, yeah. But then why where there three attacks against MacOS X and 8 against Linux (also survived all attacks)? Wouldn't your argument result in attack-proportions lower than marketshare, not higher? Or is your point that XP SP 2 simply hasn't been cracked yet because so few people use it compared to the easily exploitable XP SP 1?
So where did those 3 attacks come from? Were there three automated attacks - which "don't make economic sense"? Or were these from idiots who somehow knew they attacked Macs but simply didn't know how to do it properly?
Face it, somebody did try to hack some anonymous Mac on the net, and despite "easily exploited remote root exploits" failed.
It doesn't matter whether they succeeded, the point is they tried both in 2000 and 2004. And the proof is that they had to add people back to the list. Quit pretending.
Given that the states' actions lead to organized disenfranchisement of non-ex-fellons, the state laws are obviously fucked-up by design and a change is not wanted.
With an online database, if that site gets hacked your number is now likely circulating amongst various hacker groups and could easily be used to rack up a lot of charges.
Not that you have to order online to get your card number into an (not really meant to be) online database.
This isn't about not being able to search for "Adolf Hitler" - which you will still be able to do, you just won't see some URLs. This is all about searching for "Jew" and not getting mostly revisionist history pages that the Nazi-Blogosphere has Google-bombed to the top.
Heck, go here and download Microsoft's.NET common runtime for free. In case you aren't a programmer, this package contains implementaions of DES, TripleDES, Rijndael (AES), Public Key Encryption, Cryptographic Hashes like MD5 and SHA-1 (now 1000 times weaker!!), Digital Signatures, etc.
And likely the aforementioned keylogger plus backdoor from the NSA.

Well, things have progressed from the 80s. Or was his literature more up-to-date?
Actually no.
The key sentences in that article are:
and What you attribute to the court is actually what Apple said in the court filings. The judge has not said anything on how he came to that decision. As much as murder is. "Gee, why don't you kill somone, so I have something to report." Face it, a reporter is not allowed to incite breaking a law.

Why, do you need help understanding English?

Hey, most Slashdoters say that the OS they sell right now is out of date ;-)
Err, but Google thinks it should be floccinaucinihilipilification.
You mean the people in South Vietnam were oppressed?
A nation of people who don't have to drink their beer stale. And certainly not from the get-go.
Denial must be a river in the South.

Well, if I saw a donation by a Rex Tillerson, that wouldn't ring the same bell as one by ExxonMobil.

Just hope that Disney doesn't buy Apple, or it'll be called That Darn Cat.
