Can't Mozilla.org contact the ZDNet guys to allow downloads through www.download.com?
Advantages:
1. We get better download speeds:)
2. Mozilla reaches more people, especially the Windows users
3. download.com gets lots of hits. Imagine their ad revenues!!
psssttt psssstt....little do they know that we turn off their ads;)
Not really !!! Thats the beauty of development in India
Yes, we have poor people
Yes, we have dearth of infrastructure
Yes, we do have political problems
Yes, we also have literacy problems
But,
We still launch our own satellites
We build our defence systems (not all, but many)
We are a great engineering base
We build our own computers too
If we waited till everybody was educated, there was great infrastructure and everybody was above the poverty line - then it would be tooo late.....because we could not be able to reach up there....because the western world would not let us! Who likes competition?
And buying technology from the west would leave us like some of the countries in South America - no production at home...all imports...so eventually an economy controlled by the US/West
I think that a little bit of exaggeration isnt doing any harm, since it keeps passer-bys/casual observers at bay. It is meant for people who really need to know the latest, or take decisions (aka Linus, Alan, Rik, Dave etc. etc.).
Unnecessary questions on this list would bog down these developers too much. I think exagerration works to keep this list like a holy grail and prevent casual observers from posting newbie questions onto it
Most oil companies seem to by buying huge linux clusters for oil exploration.

Its gonna help people to format their harddrives and reinstall their 'favourite' OS from the evil empire.
As far as i have seen, the performance of a Windoze server is inversely proportional to the time since a reinstall.
Less the time between reinstalls, more the performance. Its that simple !
Whats the news with the startup times ?
It take every browser (except IE) an eternity to startup.
And plugin support too ?
Why do we have to do hack jobs of installing plugins, copying them to the mozilla directory.
Cant there be a more elegant way ?
Makes sense since this might even see a spurt of GPL'ed apps avaiable.
Besides, if u want to make money off your product by selling it under non-GPL, then why shouldnt Borland get some bit of it ?

You probably havent because they just moved their java development center from *your* US (i presume you are American) to India :-p

Better handwriting recognition is a necessity....
I have started using Palm's shorthand in my written correspondence !!
I wonder how long it is till these devices can send signals amongst themselves so that I can feel as if i am kicking someone's butt !!
