Won't give you any spoilers on the movie itself, but the version I got from the Net is pure crap. Lousy picture, hopeless sound, and CD2 is corrupt 7 minutes before the end.
At least there weren't anyone walking in front of the camera:-)
More people should use it, BTW, as it's ridiculous for people to have to spend the big bucks for a personal copy of Office.
They don't. They spend a couple of bucks to pay for the CD-R's.
Actually, that reminds me of one of the arguments I've heard for not buying a Mac: A friend of mine ordered an iBook a few days ago, and he was told by some of his friends that it was a bad move, as it's too difficult to get pirated software for a Mac.
I don't know. To take down DC would mean taking down an immense number of hubs. They could of course take down one and make an example of it to scare off everyone else, but for some reason DC doesn't seem to get much attention. Maybe they simply don't know how to bring it down. Or maybe DC isn't widely used in the USA? I've noticed that most hubs are Scandinavian, and some are from other parts of Europe. But I haven't seen many located in the USA.
Oh, and I would like to add that as I'm living in Norway and most of the aforementioned shows don't even get to this distant and godforsaken corner of the world, me downloading them doesn't cause the TV stations much harm (not the American ones, anyway). Even if the shows do air here eventually, it won't be for many years, and they'll probably get time slots so ugly no one will ever hear about them, let alone see them.
How come no articles of this kind ever mention Neo-Modus DirectConnect (www.neo-modus.com)? I've used DC to download every episode of Farscape, Stargate SG-1, Enterprise and Futurama, and DC also offers way, way more data than Kazaa, Morpheus or any of the other ones.
As a Norwegian, I can confirm that STARGÅTE sounds a bit silly. Actually, the Norwegian word 'GÅTE' means 'RIDDLE'. STARRIDDLE... I don't know... Even Wormhole Xtreme is better than that.

Good to point it out...but it should be assumed. They made no claim of originality...just lots-o-files.
Think about it though...all the different bitrates encoded by users...who expects anything else?
Of course, different versions of e.g. the same movie is part of the problem. But the main problem is that most people share their download directories, resulting in not just dupes but also in lots of incomplete files.
And much of what's shared is just crap. One of the main ideas with DC is that you have to share a lot to gain access to the hubs. Some hubs require that you share 50+GB, and it goes without saying that most of what you share is downloaded from another DC user. It also means that some users actually share their installed programs (like \Program Files) and other useless files just to gain access.

Of course, what Neo-Modus fails to mention is that most large files, like movies, are shared by hundreds of users, so the amount of _unique_ files is not even close to 1PB.

Direct Connect (http://www.neo-modus.com) might stand a chance. I've used it, and it usually finds what I'm looking for.
I might be wrong, but I don't think anyone have sued or made any trouble for Neo-Modus yet, while they continue their race for the petabyte:-)

:-) Unfortunately, it seems to be dead at the moment.
The site pretty much says it all...
Oh, and there's a link there to the International Society for the Extermination of Jar Jar Binks
