  1. Re:Artificial Gravity? on Man-Made Black Holes Looming? · · Score: 1

Funny you should say THAT ("as some kind of propulsion for spacecraft")!

The Home Page Picture on my Web Site (Exotic Transportation):
    http://home.iprimus.com.au/vortexau
features a kind of submarine surfacing beside the Icepack.

THIS is from my story (conceived for a screenplay) which features a
    Twin-Singularity powered weasons-system termed a 'Huntercraft'!

This craft exists to go into battle with H(ostile) F(lying) O(bjects)
and in THIS story, due to battle-damage, is thrust into an alternate
continium where the Earth is in the grip of a Mini Ice Age.

To return to the 'Twin-Singularity' power unit; I conceived of this to
be a pair of Mini Black Holes orbiting about their common COG.

--- Anyway, you'll just have to wait for the movie!!
THAT'S on hold while I write a Screenplay about "a Computer Game,
a almost re-built Alien Disk, and the Bermuda Triangle"!

    Mmmm! Interesting Science Section.
Mmmm! Interesting Adds! Now, where have I seen
those I.Glasses before? Ah! That's right!

  3. Re:BeOS on Booting A PIII System In .8 Seconds · · Score: 1

Hey - that's MUCH quicker than my Amiga OS3.1 at
20 Sec (with no CD in Drive), and most certainly,
much more than the 40 Sec of OS3.5!

But, of course, 3.5 is a Patched Double-Boot! And
the hardware is pure 1987 (with 1991/2 CPU)!

    Roll-on A1 with G4 or G5!

Has ANYONE even thought out what Cloning (as by that Doctor in Italy)
    may actually lead to?

Concider- A married couple have a 'cloned' version of the wife as a
daughter! The child is a younger version of the mother, with none of
    the father's genetic material.

What may happen? As the girl-child ages she becomes a 'younger'
replica of the wife, who has grown older! Are you following me?

Or - conversely - a married couple have a 'cloned' version of the husband
as a son! The child is a younger version of the father, with none of the mother's
    genetic material.

As the boy-child ages he becomes a 'younger' replica of the husband,
who has grown older! The wife looks at her 'aged' husband - then at
the version of him that is youthful!!!!!

THE RESULT - do I really have to tell you?

    Regards,
    JK

Going by THAT Mac and Linux comparison then... I would guess that THEY would say to me.... Amiga? Why do you need a GUI that does multiple Shells (Command Line Prompts, with history), Multitasking, can look like you want it, can switch apps from 640 to 1600 screens without re-booting, can do a Disk-scan without stopping you from doing your work, can navigate through the directory levels faster than a CPU 10x faster......... Oh! I forgot, I'm accessing the Internet with a DEAD COMPUTER!! Drats, JK
