    MS is just trying to get as far away from Unix-like stuff so that IF their users wake up to Linux the users would want to stay with what they know.

    IE: Only Windows has a registry for configuration. (I'm excluding NetWare 5+ on purpose , BTW)
    It's not because it's better. It's to make windows applications harder to leave the Windows world and take their users with them. In fact, if your application still uses INI files you can't get Windows XP certification (never mind Vista...)

    So in the end, it's all about lock-in. (Lock-in = $)

    Yes but "champagne" tracking service wouldn't see it and it legal to convert to MP3s.

    If you steal the CD, it's theft. That's it.
    If you DL the MP3s or an image of the CD, thats a (c) infringement, equivalent to photocopying a book. Now they want $15Mil for ONE track.

    I heard that when you switch to FIOS they remove your POTS lines.

    Also, from what I'm guessing, it you don't like your ISP providing the FIOS connection, you cannot get another ISP that can use that FIOS connection.

    IOW: you are just locking yourself into another monopoly.

    I've had 4+ Hemorrhoid operations myself.
    I had 3 were they just slit the thing when it sticks out and goes hard, purple and painful.
    They used Local anesthetic for the operation with me awake and gave me pain killers (Tylenol 3) for 3-4 days.
    Going to the bathroom for a #2 was not fast or pleasant for the 20 years I had them until I got them banded.

    Now I feel like I got a new one and I make sure I get my fiber!!

    FYI: When nothing sticks out they call them polyps.(they can get banded too!)

    I'm telling a friend to return their Toshiba Satellite P200d laptop because you cannot GET XP drivers for it.
    Vista (with timebomb apps) is preloaded of course. (No user choice there)

    1. "Quirks mode" remains the same, and compatible with current content.
          2. "Standards mode" remains the same as IE7, and compatible with current content.
          3. ["super standards"], you []get it by inserting a simple element.

    Why to do have to add a tag to "say" it's standard.
    Change the name of mode 2 to "Almost standard" and get people to use that tag there!

    Gotta love how Yahoo keeps on adding layers to *prevent* you from getting to your email.

    As it is now:
    -You login
    -you get a customizable billboard that lets you preview (but not touch) your email.
    -You must click "Email" to get to your email.
    -It then opens a new window or tab with your email to keep the Ads intact and *hopefully* in your view.

    I can't wait to see how this *new Feature* will enhance the billboard and make my email that much slower and harder to use.

    SP3 is supposed to have some of Vista's most useful features as well as all previous bug fixes.
    Would a shame to ruin a good service pack that speeds up XP by 10%.
