    I'm sure if you look up how much the Bells ..er..SBC is "contributing to someone's campaign" it much more than the Cable companies.

    Probably when they get too impatient to grab ALL the power that's left in one shot like Musharraf did in Pakistan.

    The Corps and the rich folks behind them are trying to sneak control and $ away from the people gradually so that Joe Apathetic doesn't see anything wrong until it's too late.     I doubt it will happen because Greedy people can only hold back for so long...

    It's the battery life I would be worried about.

    I always find it ironic that BSD license advocates hate it when people take BSD code and re-license it with GPL license but don't say a word when it goes proprietary.

    If Linux was using the BSD license, MS (or some other greedy company) would have pilfered it entirely and would be trying to sue all the Linux programmers a-la-SCO to kill of competition.

    GPL forced participation to develop the software further. With BSD, it's optional.
    Most people are lazy and need a push.

    I've tried to use it and the installation bombed horribly.
    They haven't updated it in long while.

    The REAL solution is to offer 2 layouts in GIMP: Native and Photoshop.

    I though it was because MS did not implement features available in Sun's version

    It's existence (MS-JAVA) was holding back the progress of the whole Java language Developers couldn't use updated functionality and PHBs had warm-n-fussy feeling about MS-JAVA and didn't want to upgrade to Sun's Java.

    If you see the code and then create something remotely like it, MS will sue your ass off.
    This way, the more people who see the code will become "Tainted" for clean-room rewrites of parts of .Net

    Brilliant!

    With Linux,I wouldn't worry about root-kits.

    I did this, too.
    I had good marks in school but that's it.

    My attention span is OK but I am told that people have to repeat stuff when they talk to me.
    It drives my wife nuts.
    The reason: I think about other things and tune out.

    Since I've been able to watch TV/movie on a PC and do other stuff on the PC at the same time, I think it's getting worse.

    Therefore I think it's just a bad habit, not a medical condition.
