Is "to stupid" a verb? If so, I can barely imagine what sort of action it might entail. Stabbing yourself in the head with a pitchfork? Injecting yourself with bleach?
You could have some grammatical fun with it though... "Let me say now your instructions are to stupid. Those are instructions that must be followed"
You listen to your portable music player with an environment and with amplification equipment that let you readily tell the difference between high-bitrate MP3 and FLAC? Hang on, I'm going to go and sell some new clothes to an emperor...
Well NX is a totally different thing to VNC anyway isn't it? I mean it's not just sending pixel data, which is all VNC ever does, even if it is compressed pixel data. NX to me is a Unix-flavoured version of RDP where it does clever stuff. Only it is tied to a platform too which is its biggest downfall.
I am reliably informed (as I really don't research this stuff) that up till 1998 or so, it was legal to show videos of penetration except you couldn't actually show it going in. Totally bizarre.
Exactly. Two UK newspapers were found copying wholly wrong information off of Wikipedia. Private Eye mentioned that a Times columnist edited the Wikipedia entry for "April 29th" right after the announcement for the date of the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. He added a fictitious story about Queen Victoria being rushed to hospital in Inverness after breaking a tow while fly-fishing at Balmoral. The next day the Mirror and Telegraph reported it as fact.
I have to say I was surprised at first that he was using the same studio where they film Dragons Den. I half expected someone to tell him they weren't interested in his presentation and "I'm out".:)
No because the contract that I had regarding buying the car would let me sue them.
If you think this makes no sense in the context of the SimpleCDN issue that is because your analogy makes absolutely no sense in the context of the SimpleCDN issue.
They are a business so should have had proper business-like arrangements for contingencies or some other sort of cover in the case of having, for exampe, their entire business yanked out from underneath them.
Not really. I am just curiously amused by the concern towards this company when concern is almost certainly better directed elsewhere.
Some company gets its hosting terminated because the supplier is playing "maximise the profit margins".
This isn't special or unusual./. loves siding with the little guy against the big guy so I can understand why they'd spend time trying to get support on here.
Interesting that you don't know whether contractual obligations have or have not been met in the case of SimpleCDN's termination. Maybe you should hold fire until you know more about this story?
Unless you're a SimpleCDN customer in which case I suggest you find more reliable hosting elsewhere!
Even better why don't we stop caring about SimpleCDN entirely (worse things have happened in the world in the last few days, apparently) and when we look for own hosting we choose providers who look like they're going to last the course and ignore the "more traffic than you can shake a stick at for a penny" providers.
I would never trust anyone who was reselling services from those clowns at UK2 because I don't trust UK2 any more than I can throw them.
People should just go and host with a different company, chalk this one up to experience and not expect to get everything for oh so very little and still expect the same quality of service as they might get from the big players.
Having your service terminated abruptly counts as bad quality of service, of course.
No, the inequality of wealth has a reasonable effect on the level of social cohesion within a country. Obviously people are materially better off now than poor people were in the 1920s. You'd expect that. But it doesn't mean that the poor people today have the same opportunities (despite the best intentions of law makers) to progress in their lives as those who are raised in rich households.
The aircraft carrier deal was done to prop up Glasgow shipyards I suspect. How else to explain a contract that means it costs more *not* to start building the ships than to build them?
Exactly. Thank you for making my point so well. There will be no incentive for companies who modify GPLed code (and there are plenty out there) to contribute back the code they have produced.
Oh but then with no copyright, if someone gets hold of proprietary software (easily leaked!) then the company it is copied from will most likely go bust quite quickly as anyone can then develop their own versions.
So a lack of copyright would kill the computer industry. Not to mention loads of other creative industries.
Almost no one thinks copyright is a bad idea though. It's a bit like saying having ambulances is a bad idea. Or smiling.
Well I find it unpleasant. I like to have daylight when I get up. Yes you get used to it but it's not nice.
Why? The time will only ever jump in one hour intervals. They will simply not bother putting the clocks back one winter.
10 people die?
We've been waiting for Duke Nukem Forever.

Yup, that spelling is about the level of quality you'll find on Facebook. ;)
That's OK. I'm on Facebook but only for social purposes. So arguably even less important than LinkedIn.

Except VNC lets you control a Windows/Unix/Mac machine from a Windows/Unix/Mac machine just fine. Unlike NX.

But yes a very slick presentation.

No, let's just not use cheap and cheerful providers and then expect the world in return.

2.2 Froyo is out for the Galaxy S. Depending on where you live of course.
It could be worse. You could have a Sony Ericsson and have been waiting for 2.1 Eclair instead!
He's not a very strictly observed Jew is he? I don't recall the Ten Commandments allowing people to be polyamorous.
This isn't a researcher - it is a story put out by a company, True Knowledge, who claim to have "world's first AI question-answering platform".
It's a puff piece for True Knowledge to say "look how much we know". Which is nice for them.
Good luck to True Knowledge anyway. It's not as if they're competing with Microsoft and Google for our attention. Oh wait...
