Much like most net-related IPOs, VA's valuation is impressively high. Much higher than bigger and older companies which have proven to be able to actually MAKE money. So let's assume that this valuation actually means something. How do you see VA Linux fulfilling this promise, IOW, what will it be like when it will sell as much as its stock price mean? Will it compete directly with Compaq and the likes on the server market?
On a related note: VA Linux is currently mostly in the Linux server and workstation market. Are you considering expanding towards other devices, like special purpose appliances?
And last BUT NOT LEAST. There's a few reasons why I'm not going to buy a VA Linux box NOW. Well first of all I live in Europe and I don't think you do sell here. And then... YOUR CASES ARE UGLY!:) Not that it's THAT important, but that's one of the reasons why I've always dreamt of an SGI workstation... So are you going to hire a designer anytime soon?
I don't believe in this conspiracy theory, namely: that electric cars don't exist because it's contrary to interest of car companies / oil companies. Why is it absurd? 1 - the car market is one of the most competitive. When launching a new model, car companies spend BILLIONS (and I'm not exxagerating!) in advertising. Would you believe that if one of them had the drafts to a very efficient revolutionary car they would just brush it off? 2 - If you still insist on that kind of conspiracy, what about all those developed country with more than enough brainpower but no car industry? Canada, Denmark, The Netherlands, Switzerland (look what happened to the Smart), Israel, Belgium, Norway, Finand, etc etc etc...
There are obviously variations beyond a direct correlation. But if you look at similar countries otherwise, like France vs. UK, you'll find something that's directly interpretable.

Hey, AC! I don't live in the US, and I know about the Declaration of Indepedence, the Constitution and The Bill of Rights. The Consitution does not give you any right, it merely sets the legal framework for the US (to put it simply). The Bill of Rights, however, written in amendments, gives you those rights. Do you feel stupid now?
I guess a 1/3 of my history classes were about WWII. I've read a reasonable amount of books about it (my grandfather fought it). I don't EVER remember anywhere a mention of this gun control story. That might be true, I've just never heard of it. That's why it smells funny to me. I don't buy it. Refer to some reknowned historian (no, a NRA-supported website does NOT qualify) and I might change my mind. In the mean time... that's all bollocks.

It was common knowledge that those fine neighbours started their hunting session at the local pub. Usually they brought bottles of the local white wine (Âpremont) as refreshment. It was common to see them coming back with few game but walking with difficulty. And cursing and yelling.
Every once in a while, they would shoot each other. So no, deer need not have guns. The hunters take care of it themselves!

So... this might sound somewhat off-topic... but this little personal story might explain why I'm more scared of drunk macho types with guns than by the police.
There is no real point in his post, since it's a troll, as it is Godwin-compliant. It is an insult to the people who have actually suffered in WWII to compare it to the gun-control issue. For once, having a right to guns might at best be considered as a MEAN to achieve other rights, such as freedom and security, not an END. In itself, owning a gun isn't a human need.
I reiterate AGAIN: this shocking seizure would be as schocking in Europe where guns are disallowed. Few people (except the fascistic conservative minorities) here want guns. It's just not part of the culture. HOWEVER in any democratic country people want and need protection from police violence.
