The article mentions (and shows) that there is an available PCI slot. Why not upgrade the video using that?
Here is a PCI TNT2 for $39 on mwave:

Mayhaps the card is too big for the box? It sure sounds a lot better then using that onboard video/shared memory...
Doesn't look like you'll have to worry about having to use that slot for anything else major... The board already has sound, network, firewire (yay), and usb... This would be a nice addition to your entertainment center in the living room given wireless keyboard/mouse + big TV:)
"We have an equivalent amount of energy in just one gram or about a raisin-size worth of antimatter," said George Schmidt, a scientist at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
I saw it this morning at 12:01am at a very nice theatre. Didn't hear any of the music problems you mentioned, but that could just be that I was totally entranced by the visuals;) The fight scenes were well done, the battlescenes breathtaking... I only noticed one or two obvious cg scenes, but they were still fairly well-done.
I just installed XP on a freshly formatted and defragged drive... It seems just a bit slower then the same computer with Win2k on it.
The skinning idea is OK, but the default choice and selection of skins sucks. Also, even with the old windows skin on, over all, it seems that the ui is...slower...
Nothing really seems to be running faster, but not everything got slower.
I'll probably be reinstalling 2k by the end of next week when I get around to it:/
In the movie industry, it seems that Fantasy has been forgotten (as opposed to scifi)
Harry Potter series has a chance of being OK, if you consider what it goes up against...
Willow.
(im sorry but imho, that movie sucked.)
but we all know LOTR will be king of all
Make an entertainment center that folds shut to look like one of the mame stations. That way, you can use it as a gaming station, or a cool place to watch movies. Think of all the things you could combine into one... Throw in a PS2 (has PS1 suppt) a DVD-Rom in the sbox, a NICE stereo system.. Wireless keyboard/mouse..
Wow. I'm thinking about building one of these more and more each day....:P~~~
I know this is a little off subject, but gamespy as of late has gown down the tube.
They now force you to create a gamespy login ID to download off of fileplanet.com. Also, once you get your ID registered and go to start downloading, it can put you in a queue for quite some time before you actually get to download it.

You can weigh antimatter?
(i seriously don't know, im asking...)
and if it did, the 'linux zealots' would flame the author
This guy sounds like the average user? Why would I want to read his rants when I hear it EVERY day at work as a sysadmin?
Actually, yeah... she's not that bad looking... maybe your screen size is a bit out of proportion?
more power to them

Out of 10 stars, I'd rate it about a 9.5
Good job Peter Jackson =]
I fail to see the huge deal in this argument?
Logos have never really bothered me, and most networks now use an alpha effect of a transparent logo, so it doesn't really take up space...
Now, if they were to get rid of car, feminine product, and lawyer commericals, that'd be a group I could really side with
YES!
A METEOR WIPED OUT OSAMA BIN LADEN
... oh wait... I get it now

It's the 20th anniversary of the first -IBM- pc, not the PC. The altair was made in 1975 or so, was it not?
25th anniversary then?
Whoa.. Slow down a second and try that again, you seem to make up words when you're angry.
I've seen gator come with AudioGalaxy, and iMesh too I think..
