For those Mac users connecting to another Mac there is always the "Screen Sharing" app located at/System/Library/CoreServices/. It's already there. It's free.

It seems pretty clear from that sentence that the last clause is about the errata. This is petty harping. It's a fine review.
Back when I was a photo assistant a roll of medium format film (transparency) cost about $29, including the cost of getting it processed professionally, not down at the drugstore. So, being a bit lazy I'll figure $35 a roll now, which means that $14K can buy you about 400 rolls of film. To a pro photographer that is not a lot of film. The digital will pay for itself fairly quickly.
You keep insisting that the government is "thinking." If it is, it's not thinking about copyright as related to what is good for our society, it is thinking about it in the way that gets senators and representatives re-elected. It's lobbyists that get copyright extended.

"No one said fanboi, and it was you yourself that placed you in the category of enthusiastic supporter of apple."
Your attitude towards me is exactly the sort of thing I was referring to. OK, I like my Apple products, but I am not a "fanbois.". It's all those ad hominem attacks that I get so sick of.
"If Microsoft did this everyone would be angry about it, but now that it's Apple its all fine and classy."
That just goes to show you that without some numbers to back it up life is so ambiguous. In MY impression there is a preponderance of Apple-hating commenters here on Slashdot. Presumable those same Apple haters are not also running Windows, which is just as closed as anything Apple puts out, but consistency of thougt--even among so-called geeks--is not a major human trait.
I think this is very fun, but it looks like they could have used some help from basic understanding of pin registration. The animations are awesome. The jumpiness of some of it is not.
"But then again, apple fanboi's will always try to herd a stray iSheep back to the iFlock. There's even an app for that!"
Insightful? It's ad hominem attacks--which by the way seem to be the bulk of anti-Apple remarks--such as this that make me think your views are based on nothing more than emotion.
Not only that, but is my memory faulty that I seem to recall some astronaut(s) saying that going back to the moon in the first place was also a mistake? Buzz Aldrin?
OK, so you're a little uninformed about the whole issue. Well, a lot uninformed.
The deal is that people who have been working loyally FOR YEARS could suddenly find themselves unacceptable and out of a job due to a background check that is abusive enough to qualify for a security clearance even though in fact it would not be a security clearance. Not only that, but the abusive snooping extends to everyone you've ever known. That's a wide net. Not to mention having to list every place you've ever lived in the past 7 years along with contact info to prove you were there.
Also, very little classified work goes on at JPL. Very little. Most everything they do is released to the public sooner or later; usually sooner. They partner with universities all over to provide them with scientific data from instruments on spacecraft and those institutions get their data in minutes, not even days or weeks.
"There's no constitutional right to work at JPL."
Yeah, I love that one. There is no constitutional right to privacy either, but it would be a mistake not to fight the government every step of the way when it comes to invasion into the personal lives of its citizens when it is not warranted.
My previous phone was a Treo 600 that I got a lot of good use out of. One day while getting out of my car I dropped it (in the case) and it landed with a perfectly flat smack on its face. I immediately picked it up and tried to turn it on. Nothing. I swore. I fretted. I pushed the on button some more. Then I got the idea to smack the thing fairly hard on the opposite side that it had fallen on. Bingo. Fixed!

But first you have to waterboard it.

Incorrect. You need to re-read the thread.

Definitely. Especially when Slashdot claims to employ editors.

I'm confused. Is he going to make birth control or mints?

Hilarious. But I just ran out of mod points...

Because his administration introduced it? Just a guess.

That's a little presumptuous. Have you actually SEEN his ear?
Funny! Wish I had a mod point for ya.

I see you've never been to Orange county, home to such places as Irvine where it is illegal to leave your garage door open.
